Falcons Running Game

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Falcons Running Game

Post by SkinsFreak »

Chris Mortenson of ESPN reported today that both the starting running backs for the Falcons, Dunn and Norwood, are out for the year. He went on to say that the coaching staff told him that the Falcons are considering starting Matt Shaub at QB and Michael Vick at running back.

:-k :-k :-k :-k :-k

Not a bad idea in my opinion.

You gotta be kidding, right?

That would be the final nail in the coffin of Vick's career as a QB.

Kidding? No. This was an actual report from Mort on ESPN.

Have you ever seen Vick run? IMO, he is a better runner than a passer. You never know, it could possibly end his career as a QB, as you suggest, but could be a new path with a brighter future for him. Mort said that the Falcons think they could turn him into a "Marshall Faulk" type back. Vick may not want to do this and there's a good chance it will never happen. I'm not a Falcons fan or a Vick fan, but I sure would like to see them try it.

Correction. Mort said Dunn and Norwood may miss a game or two, but not the rest of the season.

That would be a GREAT idea to start Vick at running back. He's an explosive athlete but for being a former #1 pick, he's a very average quarterback.

I like the idea and think Vick would excel at RB. Vick, however, would never go for it....just to protect his "QB Rep.".

I'd rather face Vick at QB than Schaub
