Dead Last on Defense

Post by Snout »

After 13 games, we are dead last in the following three defensive categories:

Sacks, 15 (half the teams in the league have twice as many)
Interceptions, 5 (all but 4 teams have at least 10)
Defensive touchdowns 0 (all but 4 teams have at least 1)

We are almost dead last on forced fumbles, 7 (barely ahead of Cleveland, Oakland and Jacksonville).

With the coaches we have, I would think even if we had the worst players in the league, the coaches would be able to "coach em up" to at least average.

Was it just me or did I hear the commentators remark that the Redskin's offense has only ALLOWED 15 sacks? I couldn't believe that number. That's awfully low, if correct. If true, that's some serious progreess anyhow.

We could increase our defense by 50% if someone would teach Carlos Rogers to catch a football.

He has dropped at least 7 potential INT's this year. He needs some serious stickum for his gloves.

I think the team should CONSIDER bringing Smoot back. We should only sign him to the vet minimum salary. That'd sure up the secondary a bit and allow us to use our 1st round pick somewhere else since some believe it needs to be on a DB.

Poor Defense

Yes, I agree. The Skins defense blows. When your offense can only score field goals, your defense has to play better. Blow up the defense and the defensive coaching staff. Who to keep?

Sean Taylor can't catch either. The only person in the secondary who appears to have any ballhawking ability is vernon fox, and he isn't good.

Nothing wrong with bringing Smoot back for the right price. Depth in the secondary is always a good thing.

How can a CORNERBACK have the worst hands on the team??

I've never seen anything like it.

Carlos has the worst hands of any DB I have ever seen.

Too much stickum and he won't be able to let go of opponents' jerseys. Ha!
