Unfrigginbelievable!

ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins coach Steve Spurrier backed off his threat to start fining players for committing penalties, and linebacker LaVar Arrington questioned whether the team was getting a fair shake from the officials.

When all was said, there were few fresh ideas Monday to stem the tide of Washington's NFL-high 35 penalties after three games, including the 17 that tied a single-game franchise record in Sunday's 24-21 overtime loss to the New York Giants.

As much as I love the man....Lavar is jumping in the neutral zone way too much and its hard to miss that call as an official. We all prob went 'noooooo' at the exact same time so its not just the officiating.

Lavar MAY have a point, I'm not sure...but the fines are completely necessary IMO.

He's still remembering 'the leap'... unfortunately... it hasn't worked in the NFL yet.

Lavar may have seemed quiet last week, but he did a great job on Shockey.

If only EVERYBODY didn't have an asterisk beside their 'good play notes' due to a stupid penalty.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

he did do a great job on Shockey for the most part....but he's got to stop jumping offsides....he doesn't need to keep jumping around up there....they know where he is

I can't believe you just went there.

Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Maybe we need to stop basing all of our opinions on one game and rememeber that Lavar was a monster in the first 2 games.

His job was to stop Shockey Sunday... penalty or no penalties... he did a good job... and it ain't an easy job.

he did lead all linebackers in sacks last year...and his freelancing in OT cost us dearly

hopefully a balance of controlled aggression can be found when it comes to our great LBs
