Hognostications threads are MOVING - Announcement

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Hognostications threads are MOVING - Announcement

Hognostications threads are MOVING - Announcement

The Around the League Forum has been the home of the Hognstications threads over the entire last season and more than half over the current one. But I have been kindly invited to vacate the premises.

No, it is not that I did not pay the rent bill on time. No, it had nothing to do with excessive noise during celebrations, not that there have been many reasons to celebrate lately.

The fact is that the Almighty Gods in the THN Olympus have decided that a better way to consolidate things around here is to move my Counterpoint Hognostications NFL Week articles from the Hognostications section in the great company of Texas Hog to the Blog Section.

So, instead of having

1) an Exclusive Article on the Hognostications Section;
2) another one by yours truly in the Blogs Section; and
3) yet another one in the Around the League Forum,

I will start each weekly Hognostications thread with my Blog in that section from now on. I will not start any more weekly Hognostications threads in the Around the League Forum. I will start the first Hognostications thread under the Blog Forum this NFL Week 11 RIGHT HERE.

I know that this arrangement still leaves Texas Hog in the Hognostications Section but I will link to him from my Blog and we can discuss his picks and ours in the posts that can be added after a Blog but can not be posted under an Exclusive Article in the Hognostications Section.

I wish to take advantage of this opportunity to thank Texas Hog and BossHog, JansenFan and Tazlah for their hospitality and assistance during the preparation of the Counterpoints and the motivation to prepare these threads every week. My Counterpoint will focus on commentaries about the Hognostications, the standings and their changes from week to week.

Yes, you will still be able to rub it in if any of us gets a disastrous result one week or another. Oh! and those HognostiTRAITORS will not be forgiven or forgotten either

Thanks everybody,

Actually, you were just disturbing the PEACE!

This should work well and make Hognositcations more prevelent in a few places on THN. Happy Blogging!!!

Did I miss a memo or something? You'd think I'd know what was going on around here... :hmm:

I'm not really sure why you'd feel you had to move or do anything with the Hognostications threads... am I missing something? Wasn't the idea just to move your counterpoint argument to the blog forum? I didn't think (nor intend) for anything else to happen. In fact one might actually argue that you were being given two homes not being asked to move. I'm rubbing my forefinger together with my thumb right now as I gently play the world's smallest violin. Image

I think the gist of the move was simply that our articles get syndicated across the internet and your article might not make much sense to someone who didn't have the context of what the Hognostications were or were all about. I think it's more suited to a blog as most of the blog readers are members of the community and will be able to put your counterpoint in better context.

My 2 cents
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

You would, Wouldn't you? When somebody writes "WE" I thought you knew.

It is A LOT easier to concentrate two potential threads in two different fora into one in a single forum. I honestly felt that is what was wanted.

I already packed all the stuff, paid for the moving van, the movers, unpacked all the boxes, settled there and now you want me to live in two homes? I honestly thought that this was a consolidation move, not a real estate gain of such proportions.

I didn't think (nor intend) for anything else to happen. In fact one might actually argue that you were being given two homes not being asked to move.
I gratefully appreciate the offer. But please have a look at it and tell me whether the current arrangement makes sense or whether you actually want me here as well.

I'm rubbing my forefinger together with my thumb right now as I gently play the world's smallest violin.
:-({|=

You should not. I wanted you to feel guilty for something that I thought would work out better.

That is BRILLIANT and I agreed happily. I agreed so happily that I brought all the stuff from Around the league and installed myself comfortably in a nicer neighbourhood with a single thread with broader visibility.

I like the neighbours better there than here, if you know what I mean.

But I can come back here too and be a true politician. Live royally in a fancy neighbourhood on the one side of town, and put up with the masses and the proletariat here to give a nice humble impression among the voters.

Did you read what he had to say about you BH? I'd say that is -almost- smack material, ten year-old smack but still.
