Discussing Haynesworth's future

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Discussing Haynesworth's future

Post by 1niksder »

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 9, 2006) -- Tennessee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth's suspension from the NFL ends after the Titans play the Baltimore Ravens. Team officials might not be ready to welcome him back.

"Our front office will be discussing the issue over the next couple of days," coach Jeff Fisher said. "That's all I can comment on."

The NFL punished Haynesworth on Oct. 2 with the league's longest suspension ever for on-field behavior, a five-game suspension for swiping his right foot on the face of Dallas center Andre Gurode.

Haynesworth also lost five game paychecks, and the Titans asked Haynesworth for some of his bonus money back. The suspension stretched through the Titans' bye week, making it essentially a six-week ban.

haynesworth is a solid DT and he's got a nasty streak that, although it gets the best of him sometimes, makes him one of the more feared defensive linemen in the league. at 6'6" 320, he's also a stopgap, someone who can stuff the run with griff or big joe, especially down by the goal line. IMO, if he gets cut, we could sign him to a relatively small contract, almost using this season as a tryout for the future, and if he produces, then reward him with a bigger contract. he's a good player, just needs to get his head in the game. last i checked, gregg williams has a pretty good record with guys like that.
Sean, may you always rest in peace and look down on us with the same love that we look up to you.

Hail to the Redskins!

I'd bring him in but I doubt Joe Gibbs would. The guy is obviously a major question mark in terms of character.

He was too good to let go by the Titans. They truly taught him a lesson. He'll be fine from now on. But he will still hate the Pukes. He is a good player in my book just for that reason.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
