The Associated Press reports a mistrial was declared Thursday, March 18, in the case of former NFL LB Greg Lloyd, who was charged with aggravated assault for allegedly shoving a gun in his son's mouth to punish him for poor grades. Lloyd, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, had faced up to 20 years in prison if he was convicted. The jury deliberated for 9 1/2 hours over three days before splitting to a 11-1 decision to convict Lloyd, jurors said. Lloyd's lawyer, Ricky Morris, said his client is innocent and was being set up by his estranged wife, Rhonda Lloyd. Lloyd, 38, will remain in custody as prosecutors decide whether to retry him.

I am really glad he's not my dad! :shock:

Gotta tell ya, If I'm the prosecutor...I'm re-trying that case. The State usually wins in the 2nd trial after a hung jury.

No disrespect 666, but I can't make light of this. If this allegation is true, I'd like to stick that gun so far up Lloyd's butt to see how he likes it.

If his estranged wife isn't setting him up (as he claims) and if he did really do this, that kid may actually be traumatized for the rest of his life.

I bet that one person who hung the jury is one of those fans that just can't give up the fact that Lloyd is a great player and can't believe the fact that he would be capable of it...

HA This is one of the stupidest things an athlete has ever done. This ranks near Olden Polynice getting road rage and falling the guy to his house and pretending to be a cop! He did this twice! Also John Smoltz ironing a shirt while wearing it! HAHHAHA Not to forget to mention Nate Newton first caught with 271 LBS of weed! Then 1 month later caught with 219 in the back of his truck! He claims he did not know there was weed back there!!! HAHAHAA
