Which win is more satisfying

Post by Justice Hog »

Coming down off the "high" a little got me to thinkin'. Which win, to me, is more satisfying?

2005 - Two late TD catches by Moss to beat the Cowboys 14-13.

2006 - Field goal with no time remaining to beat the Cowboys 22-19.

I think I know which one I will pick, but I want to see your responses before I post mine.

Oh, I obviously meant "off the high", not "of the high" but I dare not edit my post...because I think that'll screw up the poll.

I vote for the two late TDs last year becasue it was in Dallas and they had our number for so long. But, yesterday's win was stunning given that we missed a kick, let them drive for an apparent easy game-winning FG, block the kick, return it over 40 yards, get a penalty for an extra down, and barely make long FG to win. Wow!!!!

I gotta go w/ '05. Backstory: my father had a stroke that day (he's better now)...so I drove 4 hours home to see him in the hospital and was so incredibly sad and depressed that I wasn't even going to watch the game. Left the hospital and turned the game on in the 2nd quarter....got more depressed as the game went on....and then...the magic happened. I was ecstatic at the end of the game...and it gave me a MUCH needed pick me up....hands down, that was the biggest swing in emotions I've ever had in one day.

For that reason, I will always remember the 2005 Cowboys V. Redskins game. It will be right up there with other "Where were you" moments in history (like Reagan getting shot, Challenger disaster, 9/11, etc) -- only this one was good.

That 05 game was great! No doubt its in the top ten of all the great Rivalry games we've had with Dallas, but I've never gone from the lowest of the lows to the highest of the highs like this before! I've seen alot of games, but this one was just.............I can't even find the words to say.

Another thing that made this victory even sweeter was seeing Marcus Washington out on the field during the Cowboys first possession at the six inch line...........That dude was jumping up and down pointing at the Dallas players! Of course I don't know what he was saying, but he was definetly calling them out! And we get the safety on the first play!

What about a category: Both wins... b/c wow- they both were incredibly satisfying....
Do you realize that in 2 years the Skins have won 3 of 4 against Dallas?
I think I would trade a Superbowl appearance if the Skins go on a 10 year winning streak against Dallas......

05 definately.

Dallas never had full control yesterday like they did in 05. The collapse was huge in 05 and Ive never seen them so broken.

'05, for sure...
That one was stolen by the Redskins
Because of the circumstances, it hurt them much more that this one. It hurt a lot. Home game... Ring of Fame inductions... the works.

This one was a 'Skins victory mostly because Dallas really didn't want it... for some strange reason. Think about it... they had at least 3 opportunities to win the game... the idiotic 2 pt conversion attempt, the dropped TO sure touchdown, and the blocked field goal, combined with the face mask penalty. Nah... that game was a gift from Dallas.

Thanks, Cowboys... just don't expect anything in return.

I live in Texas and let me tell you the whinning that is going on now is better than the '05 win, they knew they had this game.

Okay, having seen a lot of replies, I'll weigh in with my vote.

I vote "05".

Why?

Because, unlike 06, the Skins were absolutely dominated by the Cowboys for the entire game...only to come back with 3+ minutes left to beat them. To me, that makes that game more satisfying.

It has to be the '05 game. Because we could not to anything on offense and then the two huge bombs really turned things around. I have never been more excited. It was then we first saw 'tana as a true #1 guy. Also, that win was in Dallas! Yesterday's win was more of a miracle but either way, the two hardest losses for the pukes in two years came from the 'skins. :D

I vote for '06, since the Skins fought hard until the very end. Not that they didn't in '05, but the Redskins were in this one the whole way. . .to see it all come through (at home!) was a great feeling.

It's not like I can criticize the '05 game though. . .ring of fame, down by 13 with 3:46 left to play. . .magic.

I'm sorry but last years win was amazing. Now this was the craziest finish that i've seen but last year they had the ring ceremony and the Skins just embarrassed them. Thanks ranks 1st in my book but this is such a close 2nd.

I think thats what makes 05 even more amazing. We did jack squat until the last 2 minutes and won the game. We basically punked Dallas for their lunch money. The hype that built up around the 2nd game was feirce. Dallas fans went insane and talked so much trash until they got stomped beneath the field. Last year was crazy.

05.

In their house with their fans.
I felt horrible when MV was setting up fot the 35 yard game winning field goal. I'm sure had he made it, I would have felt 100 times worse, so I can only imagine what the cowgirl fans felt like on that night...

Def 05. What made that night even more satisfying was that game was the game aikmen, smith, and irvin were inducted into the cowboys ring of fame. Talk about raining on the parade!

'05. Hands down.

Who knew that game would establish Brunell as "Da Cowboy Killa" he is today?

Yesterday was admirable, too, as he did it without his #1 receiving threat.
