Lets rehash the past a bit
I was thinking earlier tonight about the preseason and some post with a bunch of us that were panicing with the lack of production of the Offence, the line, brunell, etc.. I remember alot of people saying its only preseason it doesnt matter. It was said Gibbs offence was vanilla and he wouldnt show anything until the season started. I like to pride myself on knowing the game of football and whats going on. Now 7 weeks in at 2-5 was I right to panic in August, i only wish others paniced as well. It seems i knew what i was seeing.
GO SKINS GO!!
Oh Great Seer, What do you forsee?
Seriously, I don't disagree that the way Training Camp and Preseaon were handled looks like a mistake. However, If we had all only panicked we could have accomplished.....what?
You probably do know the game of football. But you aren't a coach...you aren't a coach on the redskins....you aren't a hall of fame coach with three lombardi trophies and a bust in the hall of fame.
You can look back and say I told you so all day long, but what do you think that you can really do, or that we can do? Why post this? Just to say you're right?
I applaud you great one.....what do the bones foretell of the rest of the season?

Does the 3 high School Championship trophies in the trophy case at the high school count. I don't think the money is in the budget for the bust thought, joe got that on me.
The reason I posted this is to maybe get some responce to the preseason and how it not meaningless. Ironically like I stated these problem started in August, they were not adressed and they reamain a problem going into November. Unfortunatly Im only seeing 8-8 which for this team and the talent, im not happy with that. The positive of that is 5-3 vs a tough home stretch.

Being one of those that thinks the pre-season is useful only for excercise, I have to concede that you have a point. Hindsight is always better as Joe Gibbs has acknowledged that he has to rethink his pre-season strategy.
I have been looking at the Redskins schedule for the rest of the year and think that 8 - 8 may be a stretch. Unless the team does some kind of about face after the bye, there is the potential that they may end up 5 - 11 or worse this year. Now that is a depressing thought! If my understanding is correct, the Redskins have few draft choices left on which to build. That is even more depressing!

Going forward, I think what some people on this forum should learn from this is that saying the team play sucks does not make one a 'bad' fan, as many here seem to believe. Further, as fans we should focus on the team's problems so that at least they can be made well-known. As they say in AA, one has to recoginze that a problem exists before it can be corrected. For instance, how many people know that Cerrato is a dismal failure, and that our scouting really, really sucks? That Gibbs, while a HOF coach, may not have what it takes to get this thing righted?

I'm not seeing what you are basing your big "I told you so" on. Everyone was worried about Brunell. No one, apparently including you saw the D falling apart since if you had you would be saying "I told you so" on that too.
And i'm supposed to be humbled by your wonderous insight?
NOT!

That's the kind of reply you get when someone wants to add something to a conversation then realizes they have notjing to add.
Thanks for being above it.
Back on topic: If the Skins game into the season guns blazing someone would have started a thread saying they were correct

The point, for me, is: since you have everyone who didn't share your view such grief, are you now repentant? As I recall, you attacked me in very unflattering terms, primarily because I was convinced that Gibbs' personel decisions would lead to certain disaster.

I'm tired of this conversation, but I think you still don't get it, so I'm going to take one more shot.
#1: When you post a thread with an open "I told you so" you may want to expect to get criticized for that regardless of your point. I don't see how this surprised you.
#2: You also seem to have missed that there is no logical contradiction between believing the pre-season doesn't matter and the offense sucking in the regular season. Believing it doesn't matter says there's no effect, it does not say they must do well after sucking in the pre-season.
#3: Had the D not fallen apart, which everyone including YOU missed, they would not be 2-5, the O would be getting more opportunities and the critism of the O would probably not be as intense. Since you missed this major contributory factor, your "I told you so" is a lot more hollow.

Where did I do that? I don't think that I did, but if its true then show me where and I will respond.
