I don't understand why Gibbs thinks free agency is the best way to build a team, what is he basing this idea on?
Maybe thats how he did it back in the 80s but it dosen't work now.
The elite teams of the NFL draft well, thats why they are elite, they may go out and get a free agent to fill in a hole but they certainly don't try to build their team with free agents.
Troy Aikman had a telling statement last week during the Colts game. He said that some of the Redskins were'nt sold on the whole sale changes made in the off-season. They seemed to think they were close after last year and feel like too many changes were made.
Until this organization puts more emphasis on the draft we are going to continue to be a team that has impressive names in the starting line up but a team that also has no depth because we can't afford it.

We won a Super Bowl with Jay Schroeder (Doug Williams) and Mark Rypien, why not with Ramsey or Brunell =)
