this is a joke.

"my focus over these next two weeks is on myself, what do i need to do" (paraphrasing)
scheduling 2 days of practice this week, 1 for passing game/pass protection, another for run game
to go over what the problems have been

oh god
"we're going to have to fight our guts out down the stretch, each and every game"

taking questions now

Someone on extremeskins just said that Gibbs said that he is scared to imagine where this team would be without the free agents that we added in the offseason. If he really thinks that then we are in way more trouble than I thought.

someone finally asked about campbell...

"the QB position is always going to get a lot of attention... we know it's going to be his time at some point, but that's really not the focus right now..."

I had to shut it off.

What junk.

You'd think they were 5-2 listening to it. Great guys. Fought hard. We're going to work through this. Yada yada.

And Jason sits. Mark is the starter unless he is too injured to play.

I've said it before. Jason must be a complete bust.

Oh, and he opened the presser with props for the fans who waited to great them when they came back.

Good job guys! You're pointed to as the continued support for the way this season is going. That's spin 101.

Yuck.

I'm a Gibbs homer but this is just stupid.

100% agree
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

Gibbs talked for a half an hour and basically said nothing. I'm a Gibbs fan but he has lost his grip in the 2nd go around and to me he doesn't seem willing to look at it objectively and think outside the box to adjust.

He is dogmatic in his support for Brunell. The only way Campbell plays this year is in the last 2-3 games after the season is completely and utterly lost or Brunell gets hurt.

I have yet to hear Gibbs criticize any aspect of Brunells play. I'm done listening to or reading this garbage any longer.

Also, he basically said the reason Rocky isn't getting playing time is that he is behind veterans and Dale thinks the veterans (holdman) are the best option! OK, Holdman is possibly the worst OLB in the league but b/c he's a vet they aren't even considering putting some young hungry blood in there to see what happens. This my friends is a case example of why this team is a dead horse.

I know! Why can't Gibbs be more like a real head coach like Denny Green in his press confrences!

I think we should worry about fixing the defense before we worry about Brunell. Brunell isn't giving up 30+ points/game.

I think if by "arm strength" we mean "can throw far" then yes mark can throw far, the problem is his accuracy downfield and willingness to look downfield at all options long enough for a route to develop and his timing being on time with his delivery which he never is during any kind of hurry situation (remember the playoffs?) A couple of the sacks indy got we're rediculous because basically it was a guy on the ground grabbing at MB's feet and he is soo old/imobile he couldn't improv. QUESTION to all Brunell supporters "Do you think we'd be better with even Phillip Rivers mobility, you do! Well don't you think Jason Campbell is more mobile than PR? It's not even a question between Campbell and Mark, start Jason.

Oh, look you made a mistake.....I'm sure you meant to write 2-a-days right. right? because if your team is breaking down on every play and screwing up as much as they are I'm sure he would call for more practices to "go back to basics" and correct the problems as well as have the players get to know the plays better.......right? tell me you made a mistake. Please. He can't possibly think that the players have earned the right to have a whole week with only 2 practices then back to work for a week of prep.

If the offense could put together some long drives, the defense wouldn't be on the field so much and would not be giving up so many points.

We need to fix the defense, but we also need to fix the offense.

I cannot understand why Gibbs was so pleased with our offensive performance in the first half of the Indianapolis game. Except for the one touchdown drive, the offense didn't do much at all in the first half. Let's not forget that special teams gave us 7 of those first half points.

With a RB like Portis, with a TE like Cooley, with receivers like Moss, Lloyd and Randal El, with an OL like we have, we SHOULD have an offense to rival that of Indianapolis.

Bottom Line: Coach Gibbs should not be pleased and proud of a 7 point first half offensive performance against the worst run defense in the NFL. We should be scoring 30-40 points per game.

I really did'nt like his admittance of how excited and happy the team was going into half time with a 14-13 lead...

We've been getting manhandled in the 3rd quarter all year...someone should have reminded the guys the game does'nt end after the 2nd quarter.

He even led off his 6:00 radio show with Riggins on TripleX with his 'sorry I didn't stop the bus for the fans' apology.

I'm beginning to drop my "Cloak of Eternal Forgiveness Because He Won Three Super Bowls" for this guy.

For the record, this guy IS that guy who won three rings and not some evil twin, Right?
