I think you may be right. If the Skins lose this week, they will have to win all but 1 of their remaining games to have a shot, and probably all of them to make the playoffs. You never know, though.

I disagree. I think the Redskins (including Mark Brunell) can play well and still lose. When Indy is hitting on all cylinders, they're almost unstoppable. I could see Mark having numbers like 21/33 (mostly dump offs and screens, of course), 300 yards, 2 TDs and a pick, Indy winning anyway, and Gibbs still talking about the positive plays Mark made.

I think Brunell has to really stink it up like he has recently (or worse) for Gibbs to pull him, lost season or not.

In 1985 veteran Joe Theisman gave us the best chance to win football games. The team started off 1-3, then fought back to 5-5. The team was literally just average. Then in the 11th game Lawrence Taylor broke Theisman's leg, Jay Schroeder came in and provide a spark that helped us beat the Giants. Schroeder was 4-1 as a starter over the next 5 games and the team finished 10-6, narrowly missing the playoffs.

Maybe Campbell can provide the same sort of spark.

Hey fellas...i was at the game and had passes to the touchdown Club at that dump of a stadium...well its under the stadium and there are glass windows that lead right to the outside of the visiting lockr room.....so i was there a good 2 hrs before kickoff and i saw all the guys.... Gibbs, Portis, Moss, and even #8 going in and out of the locker room over and over again...it was awesome to see them.......... but as Brunell was heading back into the locker room in his shorts and sweathirt from pregame warmups there was a TV set up right outside of the locker room andhe literally sat there there for over 5 minutes just watching the Pitt/Atlanta game.....all the other guys had their headphones on and paid no attention to anything going on outside the front of the locker room or to any of us trying to get their attention to wish them luck of course..those other guys just ran into the loscker room and seemed to be getting their game face on......Brunell looked like he didt have a care in the world..

Look....he is his own man and he can do whatever he wants but you would think an hour or so before one of the biggest games of the season he would be getting the gameplan down and getting taped up with his own teammates instead of watching other games with security people outside the locker room. I just thought that was kind of tacky and told me how much he really does care about winning and losing and this team. I can tell you that the defense shouldnt be allowed to pick up their paychecks this week as well.

I hear you but I wouldn't go that far because we really don't know what each player's pre-game prep is. That could be his way of settling down before heading, we don't know. So I wouldn't look to deep into that.

But one thing I do know: he is done as an NFL QB. If he has to have "perfect" conditions to be effective then he is done. If he is hobbling after every hit or knockdown he takes, he's done. Every QB in the league has to deal with the pass rush not just Mark Brunell. He is a shell of his former self that just can't play in this league anymore, period.

And Joe Gibbs' stubbornness about Brunell and Brunell's own ego of not realizing that I am too old to play this game, is hurting this offense and this team, defensive woes aside.
