Who should be fired?
Our entire scouting department.
If a GM is not hired for this team they will continue to muck around in mediocrity for the remainder of my life.
This BS win now attitude does not work. Its been 7 years and it has yet to work.
None of the coaches are a good evaluator of talent. They're 50/50 for all of the people they've brought in.
Gibbs has apparently bought into Dannys ways of doing things. Gibbs has been out for so long that he looked for advice and took Dannys ways of doing things and is determined to make it work. Gibbs needs GM.

Maybe President Gibbs can fire Coach Gibbs?
J/K but someone should be canned for being 2-5 at this point.
What a disgrace!
How about Novack? Misses that FG with NO pressure!
Great, now a really unreliable kicking game as well.
What a joke of a game - how did they even score 22?

well, we did look ok in the 1st half......

People may not remember exactly what you did
or what you said....
~BUT~
they will ALWAYS remember how you made them feel.

IF, and it's a big if, I think it should be Saunders. I think Gibbs should have kept on being the OC. A lot of people thought that he hired an OC cuz the game had passed him by, but towards the end of the season Gibbs was doing a masterfull job of calling the plays and doing what had to be done. It showed that he was improving and getting the most out of what he had.
Perhaps his decision to bring Saunders in wasn't the right decision to make. I'd rather have seen Gibbs continue to do what he was doing, instead of bringing in Saunders, when it's going to take two years for the offense to develop any kind of identity. We were just beginning to find an identity when all of a sudden Saunders comes in and takes it apart.

Hear this loud and clear.
No one!
What needs to be fired isn't a person but a philosophy or a 'culture'.
It's the culture of change that has resulted in what we're seeing on field.
Every year there is too much change. The poision in it is that the changes all makes sense. But they rarely work. And when they don't work, they really hurt the team.
AA, Carter, and Saunders. All good people and talented enough to be considerd stars. It's not their fault. What's at fault is the culture of change that permeates the Skins org.
But how can you blame Snyder? He's built an empire from dirt and is one of the most powerful biz men in America. He is a wheeler and dealer and makes money by changing things because he is marketing genuis at heart. I work in marketing. And it's a game where you constantly tinker and change. And I see that in the Skins. Sadly, madly, until they get to be a bit more old school and build rather than aqcuire, this current state will be the permenant state of our team.
Firing people will just be more change. More marketing. They have deeper issues.

Everyone wants to jump on Danny and give Gibbs a free pass. Come on folks. Do you really think that the "Boy Wonder" is going to get this franchise's Savior to comeback and not let him make personnel decisions? To get this guy out of retirement I'm sure that Danny gave him the keys to winnebago and said drive.
Gibbs WAS great 15+ years ago. This is a new NFL with new rules (Free agency, salary cap, etc..), new players, new offensive and defensive schemes, etc. The game has passed Joe Gibbs by and his ol' skool stubbornness about Brunell, lax training camp, and lack of discipline of this team is his fault. Remember, Gibbs is the same guy that talked about "core guys" and look at what they do with "core guys"? They let them go and bring in junk for far more money.
They are so secretive at Redskins Park and willing to cover up stuff that the paying fans are getting no answers to what they are paying for and that is a travesty. And our friends in the media at these press conferences walk on egg shells and won't ask Joe Gibbs the "real" questions:
1. It is clear that Mark Brunell is a shell of himself, he hobbles around after being hit; why have you not made a change at that position?
2. Teams have seem to adjusted to what you guys do in the 1st half, why can't you and your team adjust in the second half to what teams do in their adjustments?
3. In your first go as coach of this team, discipline was a Joe Gibbs staple. Where is the discipline now? You got guys getting penalties for celebrating, taking off their helmets, etc....
4. Did you bring Al Saunders in as OC for $2 million dollars under the stipulation that Brunell remain QB?
5. Al Saunders is quoted as saying that he has not seen much of Brunell and there are things that he can do and things that he can't; 1- why has he not seem much of Brunell? and 2- did you give Al Saunders the opportunity to select his QB to run this offense?
5a. If not, why???

the celebrating penalties are bull. the officals are killings us a times. it's like they hate us. dan snyder has done something to make the nfl and their officiating to really really hate us.

Gime me a break. The officials have nothing against the Skins. It's not their fault that we can't do anything right. The rule for celebration is that you can't do anything on your back. It's the same for everyone. The penalty on Marcus for hitting Manning low was a bad call, but we should've been called for a 15 yarder on that hit that almost took Manning's head off. And Frost's penalty was a no brainer for the officials. They'll get you for that every time. The blame for the penalties belongs to the players and coaches. Period.

One comment I heard -- listened/watched a lot of postgame so I can't pinpoint the source -- struck me as quite curious.
The two biggest overhauls happened after the two seasons the Redskins MADE the playoffs.
After the 1999 NFC East title we had the 2000 spending spree.
Then after the 2005 '5-in-a-row' run to the playoffs, we find Gibbs taking himself out as primary play-caller.
Maybe his detachment from the nuts-and-bolts details is also a reason why the halftime adjustments -- which were a Gibbs trademark -- don't seem to be there now.

I know it may be difficult for you to follow but give it your best shot.....For 2006: "Individual players are prohibited from using foreign objects or the football while celebrating. They are also prohibited from engaging in any celebrations while on the ground. A celebration shall be deemed excessive or prolonged if a player continues to celebrate after a warning from an official. Previously, players were not prohibited from using props or celebrating on the ground.
Reason for the change: Promotes sportsmanship.
Randle El fell to the ground and that's why he got penalized.
The only one who needs to be fired is BRUNELL!! Brunells lack of playmaking ability is creating such a lack of offense that results in our defense having to be left out on the field for way too long. AHHHHHH we need this old guy out of there now!
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

Why didn't you apply that principale to Archelleta saying listen were not paying more than Taylor. Because there a bunch of hypocrites I thought Gibbs had class?
I glad you brought this up. I listened to that feeble justification for getting rid of Pierce and Smoot (as well as the excuse for dropping LaVar) ad nauseum. It was transparent BS at the time(s). With those guys on board, plus Clark, and the luck we had with Colson and Montgomery, we'd still be a top defense
Too bad; The great acquisitions Moss (and I believe Randal El and Lloyd) have been far outweighted by personnel disasters.
The Brunell train wreck speaks for itself-- three more or less wasted seasons and a nationwide questioning of Gibbs' fitness for his position.
Here's the good stuff. Moss, Lloyd, and Randal El can play. A couple of good defenseless linemen have joined the team. Cartwright, to my admitted shock, is looking like a fine KR. Gibbs may go with Campbell if embarassed enough.
Here's the bad stuff. Samuels is no longer a top player, not even a dependable one. The entire OL is no better than ordinary, man by man, and doesn't play well as a unit. Key blocks seem to come from WR's,

Unfortunately, our defense is so weak, our draft picks so traded, and our need for a QB so extreme that the OL won't be a high priority.
If Campbell can't play, expect Gibbs to finish his five year stint with a losing record.
that we have no chance of building it in near future,

How long will it take before you realize that Brunell is not giving up the points?
