Champ jersey's: what are people doing with them?

Post by surferskin »

I know there has to be a bunch of them floating around since he was such a popular player (my fav. for a while). I had a replica champ puma jersey for about 4 years and had to sell it on ebay after i heard the trade was inevitable...$25.50, not too bad :up: just curious to see what the typical skins fan does. :feedback;

I took my Champ Bailey jeresy and FedEx'd (had to use team sponser FedEx) and sent it to the Broncos clubhouse as a COD.
They will pay for the shipping when it arrives.

I am waiting on Portis jerseys to arrive.

I'm waiting to get a Portis jersey. Then I'll take a picture of myself in it and send the photo along with my Bailey jersey to my dad (die hard Bronco fan) in Colorado.

For the cheap fan, a piece of cardboard, some double sided tape, and a maroon marker is all you need...write 'SPRINGS' in all caps, attach to the back, and you're updated for the new season... :D

I have retired mine to closet next to my Brad Johnson & Stephen Davis jerseys. No bad feelings toward Champ, the Skins never gave him a reson to stay. We didn't win, we didn't give him a stable coach, and we didn't let him play a little WR. Bottom line I'm keeping my jersey.

Don't look now but Gibbsfan so eloquently stated:

too many coming and going to be settled on one.

I, too, have a Riggins jersey. I'm getting a new one, though. When I do, however, it's gonna be "JUSTICE HOG" #20 (my favorite #).

I figured I have no chance of getting traded (at least BossHog hasn't threatened me with that yet), so it's a safe purchase.

I have his red one that he signed on both sides when he was a rookie. I never really wear former Skins jersey's outside of the house so I guess the white one is for inside only! Sorry Champ!

Champ jersey

I wear it when I play backyard football so it gets nice and dirty. The guy had a mediocre year last year and did not want to be a redskin anymore. I AM GLAD HE IS GONE...Fred Smoot will excell without him

I'll role it up and smoke it, when we get a chance to play the Broncos for the first time at Fed Ex Feild. Portis will get at least one good break away from the pack and run past Bailey saying thanks for the Burgundy and Gold.

No seriously, I'll store it with all the others that have come and gone I really like Champ but I had a hell of a lot more respect for him before he shunned Gibbs and the brass. Either way it will work out for both sides, especially ours. Thanks for the memories Champ, and thanks for Portis.

He's no closet Redskins fan. He lives locally to the team, and has the opportunity to get autographs. He was likely thinking about Bailey in the HOF one day. Let me tell you something. If I were to bump into Roy Williams somehow, I'd certainly get an autograph. I wouldn't look at it as a reflection on my team of choice. I'd look at it as a potential money-maker for me one day. Plus, Gambit has aspirations to one day be an agent to the stars. Likely, those jerseys would adorn the wall behind his desk where he'd be "Showing Them The Money."
I'm not looking to stick up for Gambit. We're not pals, belive me. I just think it would burn me good if somebody called me a Dallas fan, and it probably irks him some to be called a closet DC fan.
Then again, he's in our house. Call him whatever you want.:)

My 13 year old has a Bailey jersey. I'm not gonna tell him one way or the other what he should do with it. Bailey was good for us. If not for Bailey, no Portis. You can consider the jersey an effigy of a failed relationship if you want. Me ? I'll remember Champ Bailey, #24 Washington Redskins. Did we burn our Monk jerseys when he went to the Jets ? Did we wipe our tails with Clark's #84 when he went to the Dolphins ? What about when Schlereth went to Denver ?
It's a business, folks. We made a transaction, simple as that. You don't want your Bailey jersey ? Send it to me. He's still okay, in my book.

=D> Nice introduction for a Cowboy fan.

I dont care if he wants to be a Dallas cheerleader. INMO, Me as a grown man would not ask another man for an autograph. I would not ask Roy Williamns for nothing.......nothing.

There are a million and one ways to make money and collecting our enemys gear is not one of them.

I hope some of us dont have a soft spot for puke fans, when all they do is come up in here a bust bubbles.

Give me a freakin break....lay off the puke fan love affair crap.....please

Players dont stay around long enough to mean amything anyways.

I bought one and will have the numbers and name pulled to put up some other player who might be around for a while
