Anyone else watching this game?
It's 5 to 2 and there are loads of guys in this game.
They are flying all over the ice at the moment.
Jamie Heward is having a good week. A goal on Saturday and one today. Good to know there's lots of talent on this team. Not bad for a defenseman either.

Caps spreading the goals out
Whenever I start to get blue, I just breathe!
My favortie line from the Simpsons:
Flanders: "Looks like someone is having a pre-rapture party!"
Homer: "No Flanders, it's a meeting of gay witches for abortion , you wouldn't be interested!"

Well the Capitals are definitely the only team in Washington right now that is playing to, or above their potential.
An impressive win for the Caps, and this game was all about goaltending.
Alex Auld was absolutely horrible for the Panthers and Olie was, well Olie was Olie.
After the first period shellacking, the Caps sat back and Kolzig made save after save in the last two frames to keep this game out of reach for the Panthers... especially in the second period.
The best play of the entire game was Ovechkin's hit on Salei... man he (Salei) is lucky he saw Ovie at the last second or there was a good chance that it was lights out for Salei. How on earth can you not like a hockey player with all the skill in the world, that can consistently hit and bang like Ovie does? He's just great to watch, and I am completely in awe of his completeness as a hockey player. I think he's actually leading the Caps in bodychecks.
And Alexander Semin? What a pleasant surprise this guy has been for the Caps. All he's done is score 6 goals in the Caps first five games. More impressively, the guy just keeps being the guy to open the scoring. On a team that struggles a bit offensively, it's really helping them to get early goals and being able to play a slightly more aggressive game because of it. i think if it weren't for Martin havlat ripping it up in Chicago, that the whole elague would be talking about Semin coming in and notching 6 in his first 5 games.
Great start for the Caps... 6 points out of a possible 10 so far and it could have just as easily been 7 or 8. No rest for them today though as they hop off to Atlanta to face the Thrashers tonight at 7:00pm (TV - Comcast, radio - 980AM)

Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

As for as scoring goes, we saw the usual suspects last night against the Thrashers. Zubrus, Semin, and Ovechkin all scored one.
That was a tough one to watch. Atlanta tied it up on a late 3rd period, pulled-gollie score. In overtime each goalie made some huge saves, but in the shootouts Atlanta was able to put away the Caps pretty confidently. Marian Hossa in particular had a great game for the Thrashers, scoring the opening and tieing goals, as well as putting the nail in the coffin with his shoot-out goal.
The Caps still get the point for the overtime loss, and they are starting to look good, but up until the last minute it really looked like the Caps had everything covered. Brent Johnson had another good game with 40 saves--he looks like a starter in there. For playing their second game in as many nights, the Caps looked energetic and ready to play.
There were a lot of positives last night, but obviously missing out on the win is pretty frustrating. Next up is Tamps Bay on Saturday.
