Anyone else miss the Cards?
I have to admit, I truly miss the "other bird meat" in our division. I was just watching an NFL Films recap of the 'Skins 75 season, and the pivotal game was against the Cardinals at Busch stadium, which ended with the Cardinals being awarded a touchdown on an ATROCIOUS call that basically kept the Redskins out of the playoffs. This was one of my earliest memories of Redskins sorrow.
But then it got me thinking about the games against Jim Hart, Neil Lomax and their tough running back at the time whose name escapes me at the moment....crap...
Anyway, they were always the team we'd seem to get healthy on, with the exception of a couple years during the Norval Dark Ages when they swept us (unthinkable).
They just always seemed like the most bizarre team, always with half-filled stadiums, and to this day I have never met ONE person who considers themselves a Cardinals fan. Does anyone know a Cardinals fan out there?
Anyway, I miss those dirty birds and our twice-yearly thumpings of them....

i don't. not that i dislike the cards or anything, but i really like the way the league is set up right now. you face every other team in a span of 4 years. i really like that. it just wasn't like that before. i think it was a great move to add that 32 team.

[quote="Steve Spurrier III"]Do I need to remind anyone about Aeneas Williams running Stephen Davis' fumble back 99 yards?
I was at that game. Aeneas ran it back an NFL record 104 yards. I missed most of it as I though Stephen had scored, and was taunting the hell out of the Cards fans sitting behind me. Needless to say I sat down and endured a huge helping of humble pie right after that.

I'll second that Sonny Rules...
I miss those two proable victories a season, because if you were like me you would get the schedule, and try to predict the season's outcome with as litle biased as possible. I never had problems circling the Cardinals game, and writing a W.
However I like the realignment, and I'm a fan of how the scheduling is done

Totally Agree! The Cards belong in the West. We had some great gemes go both ways with them. They were also one of those teams people always said we had them beat and they'd pull something out of there helmets. They may be a powerhouse in there respective division they are in now. There offense is gonna be something else with ole' Denny Green coming to town.
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.

the cards rb,s were oj anderson and stump mitchell while jim hanifan was the coach. i remember being at my first skins game at rfk in 1984 when the skins played them for the nfc east championship.mark moseley kicked the winning field goal.
not having the cards in our division anymore seems a little wierd.the final score was 29-27.

man i remember that game like it was yesterday.the skins got screwed big time in OT that day.one of the last conversations i had with my dad was about this game and that was in oct 1987.i do'nt know of any cardinals fans where i live.but i beleive they will be on the upswing the next few years and we'll see more of them.i do miss kicking them around twice a year though.the cards RB you are thinking of is either OJ ANDERSON or stump mitchell, and maybe even terry metcalf.

I do indeed defintely miss the Cardinals in the NFC East they are on the most anemic franchiest in NFL History and the Redskins had a ton of sucess against them! It usually was an automatic 2 wins a year! It was a nice cupcake in the schedule! Oh I miss the days of Buddy Ryan as the Cardinals coach! LOL! Hail to the Redskins!

Yeah, but they were notorious for upsets as well over all of us in the divivion from time to time. They were overlooked by too many teams, and I think they are still getting the same treatment now. That might end in the near future with Denny coaching there now.
