Three away games after those teams have buys!
The Skins are the only team in the league that is forced to play 3 away games against teams coming off of a buy!
Every team gets one buy, but apparently not too much thought is put into how many games a team has to face another team after their buy.
Dallas and Baltimore also have three games against teams coming off of buys, but both are atleast home for one of those games!
There are 12 teams that don't have to play a team coming off of a buy:
Cinci, PBurge, Indy, Jags, KC, Jets, Raiders, Igles, Vikes, Lions, Panthers, and Cards!
This doesn't seem too fair! Maybe it is just me!

The Redskins are always coming off a big BUY. It's not fair to all the teams that have to play the skins.................
Every week (especially in the off season) is a BUY week for the Redskins.
We have had BUY weeks were we got Deion Sanders, Andre Carter, Jeff George, Adam Archuleta, Brandon Lloyd, etc......
All these BUY weeks you speak of, what's yer point?
OOOHHHH....I get it...you meant BYE weeks...sorry...I'm a little S-L-O-W!

I agree with you, the Skins didn't get much of a break with the schedule this year.
But they shouldn't. They should be good enough to compete every week no matter where, who, or when they play. On paper, they should've been that good (which goes to mr. dangerfield's very funny and sadly on the nose reply)
And playing teams coming off of a buy is no more difficult than playing a team in the first round of the playoffs. If you expect to win in the playoffs, then I'd guess you'd be ready for anything in the regular season.
I can't wait for the year when we're all more worried about home field advantage than the home/away and buys in the regular season schedule. Who knows, maybe we'll go 13-3 this year . . . it's possible.

Bye weeks sometimes work for a team (i.e., recovering from injuries) and sometimes against a team (i.e., not keeping them in 'game mode'). There are advantages and disadvantages in playing a team after their bye week.
Honestly, I think it's more of a disadvantage because a bye week is a great time for a team to get completey "healthy"....something the Skins have really needed thus far this year.

I was just discussing this with Jansenfan. The schedule is not random, someone obviously planned it this way. They really need to examine how the schedule is determined. Obviously they could plan for all teams to have a little bit more of an equal schedule. I've heard several commentators talking about the difficulty of our schedule and how it happens to a few teams every year.

I would rather have our schedule this year with those 3 games than the giants scheduled first 6 games where they look like being 2-4 and the eagles schedule at the end where they play 3 divisional games in a row and on the road.
Having a bye week can be an advantage at the beginining and then again it can be better to have it towards the middle where you can get ready to finish strong.
I really think we lost last weeks game because we did not play like we did against the jaguars. I could not believe how many yards Barber got after a missed tackle - replay the tape and check the misses! If this team plays together we can beat the other teams in our division no matter how well they play or if they have a week to get ready. I have not seen a better team in the NFC East than the Redskins this year when they play as they are capable.
We win this game this week only if we play together - we will only lose any game we play if we do not play together - it really is that simple.

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Sounds like Joe Gibbs, he always complains about the schedule. I would hate that job, someone will always figure out how you screwed them.
The Skins need to play well, not worry about this nonsense.

As Dangerfield pointed out, I was talking about the "bye" week and not the off-season.
The point I was trying to make was that they are NOT EVENLY DISTRIBUTED. I'm sure you could make an argument that it doesn't matter, or it is better to get a team that has lost it’s momentum (don't buy that for a second), but I contend their is a great advantage to get an extra weeks rest and practice. No one every says, “gee, I want to finish third in my conference so I still get a home game, but I won’t get that pesky extra week to rest and practice; I might just lose momentum!”. I’m sure no coach has every thought, “great we get that team that just had two weeks to get healthy and prepare for us, because the momentum they have lost will certainly out weigh that extra rest”.
The league should make them even. 14 out of 16 game already have nothing to do with how well a team did the year before so this is the only way they can fix a schedule to help or hurt some one! I don’t care that Giants had to play 6 straight tuff games, they had to play them at some time! Look at our schedule after the bye, 9 straight tuff games. The Titans are our last cupcake, if there is such a thing in the NFL!

Last week the Titans played a tough game against the Colts - there are very few "easy" games in the NFL and any team playing well together can make it tough for a team that thinks they just have to show up. The jaguars ran into a fired up Redskins team and look at what happened.
The Texans used to be easy - if the pukes are not careful they can easily lose to the other Texas team. I will agree that the Raiders are pretty bad but there are not many easy games anymore because the talent is pretty evenly matched and most teams front offices have put together decent teams.
Schedules are a easy thing to criticize and it's easy to say we have to play the same teams so what does it matter when you play them? The fact is you do not like to start off badly and no team wants to have a really tough end to their season when they are trying to build momentum.
The thing about the giants is that have little team unity and if they start off 2-4 they look like a great candidate to self destruct because of that. The Redskins are a lot more together as a team and can handle that sort of stuff better - like right now!

I wasn't making excuses for the season, this is just a bad team, what I was pointing out is the NFL puts absolutely no thought into something that can give teams a competative edge.

True, but realize one thing, this schedule is determined by a league that tries to convince everyone that the Saints will be playing a home game against the Giants at Giants Stadium last season. What a joke.

Man, who cares who/where we play after a bye week? Great teams handle their business at home and away from home. If we need to start looking for superficial ways to win then we're simply not where we need to be. If we get beat by the Titans at home with the season on the line, what do you think we're going to do any differently after the bye? There aren't any excuses at this point, they simply stink right now.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!
