I live in the NY area, and I think you are right on. I'm not clear why they are so down either.
On D, they are very good against the run and horrible against the pass.
We can give up some yards but can't give up long drives w/ lots of third down conversions that eat up the clock. If our D keeps improving, we will win.
Their offense on third down is ranked 14 after 3 games and their defense against third down is LAST in the NFL.
The good news is their defense against the pass is 29th in the NFL and their defense against the rush is 12 - this most likely because everyone is having so much success passing!
I do not know why this team is favored (by almost a TD last week) against us. That is most likely because of all the stupid bettors in NY who cannot bet against this low life bunch of retards.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
I think we can absolutely beat the Giants. In fact, I'm expecting it.
However, I am a little concerned that we're getting ahead of ourselves on this board. A win against a struggling Texan team, and a great win against a very difficult team, and all of a sudden we're saying that the offense is in gear and rolling, and we're headed to a 14-2 record with no bumps along the way. I'd prefer to see this team play the way the played the Jags for a few games in a row (win or lose), and then I'll be convinced that the 'skins are as good as I thought they were before the season started.
And I'm not being pessimistic. I like to call it cautious optimism.

I hear you but this team is playing better - we cannot really go back to evaluate them - they are what we have seen recently. That is not to say we will go undefeated but we will be playing in the playoffs!
The fact is we all thought (well most of us) that the O line would be very good - maybe they were not initially (they were not!) but the performance we saw on Sunday against a very good D against the run was fantastic.
The D is playing well enough and will I think get a lot better! I just watched the replay of the game and this was really a very good performance against a QB who got very hot at the end. But our D is stopping the run a lot better than last year and IMO will improve on that as well.
We are watching something special happening here and should enjoy the ride.

All we need to do is run up the score in the first three quarters, and then play hard D in the the 4th, and we should beat them. They don't seem to show up to the game until the 4th quarter anyways.

Still, its gonna be a tough win for us. I think people overestimate infighting's impact. Arrington and Shockey don't play together and I can guarantee you they won't be thinking about each other in the middle of a play. Nevertheless, I think they'll both find ways to screw up on their own and we can DEFINITELY win. I have a better feeling about this game than I did previous to the Jags games.
I think the key to this game is the O line. Can they protect Brunell like they did against the Jags? If they can, no doubt we will win.

I know there are a lot of fans who think the giants will win this game based on a lot of sound reasoning, some are even here at THN and very big fans of our team.
The Redskins offensive line performance last week was against a team that was allowing 58 yards, per game, on the ground and that was against Dallas, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis! This was an indication to me that this line has now realised their own potential and will continue to dominate the line of scrimmage. The giants line is not as good as that line and we will expose that weekness this weekend. Don't get me wrong - I think NY has a good defensive line and their front seven are very good on paper, but as the Redskins have found the last 7 years (before Gibbs) good teams on paper rarely play well together.
The run blocking in the third and fourth quarters last week when everyone knew we were going to run was just great.
We will win this game because we are playing as a team again and the giants are just a very good bunch of NFL players.
