we should cheer for dallas

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

we should cheer for dallas

Post by TincoSkin »

Well now that i have your attention, i think its the one week in the year when cheering for the rival to end all rivals is necessary. It would be nice if dallas wins. It would keep the eagles from retaining the top spot in the division. When we beat the giants we want to be all tied up, 3-2/3-1 (stupid bye week screwing up my point).

Dont hate me, but ill be cheering for dallas this week.

On the other hand, we've lost to Dallas once already, and to a conference team as well (Minny). We may do better having the Eagles win this one, so that the team that (currently) holds the tie-breaker over us is knocked down a notch. We can then beat the Eagles twice and be in a better spot to take the division or a wildcard on tie-breakers.

Of course, I'd prefer it if the NFL found some way to have them both lose this weekend.

I could never root for the cowboys. I can root against the team they are playing, but I will never root for the Cowboys.

I picked Dallas to win that game ... I just think Philly is overrated at this point, if they can beat Dallas I'll reconsider that but I'm still not sold on Westbrook's ability to stay healthy for a season and I think their D is suspect

I might pick 'em, but I'll NEVER root for 'em. Frankly, I see it as a no-lose situation. If they win, I get the point, if they lose....well I get to see their sorry butts lose.....

JansenFan and SkinsChic are right. Don't think of it as Dallas winning; think of it only as Philly losing.

I hope Philly loses this game.

Why not root for a tie? That takes one point away from BOTH teams.

NO WAY I can root for Dallas to win even if it benefits the Skins. The thought disgusts me - I shiver to think that I could even fathom the thought of Dallas winning any game. For shame even suggesting such a thing - I don't even want a tie - straight up loss - Go Birds.

Amazing idea. I don't hate you, but I fear for your sanity. Hating Dallas is not something that can be switched on and off - I hope they get beaten to a pulp.

I think the whole of the Philthy team will be penalised with a five-game suspension after they unprofessionally stump on the heads of the entire Pukes team.

This is a better alternative.

How about getting Haynsworth in the next offseason ? Anybody that hates the Pukes like that looks like good material to me.

Yeah, an Eagles win probably helps us more. I'll be rooting for a few major injuries.

How could I've been so wrong about you....

The only way I'd cheer for TtiT is if half of them are in a collasping building that has been burnig for days, and I'm trying to get the other half to go in and see what's up.

<---------------------------(my thoughts in my username)

plus, i don't care about being in first place now. i care about being in first at the end of the season. which team is more of a threat? that is the question. that team should lose.

i don't have the answer though.
the cowboys got smothered against jacksonville, and their vaunted D gave up only 3 points less than our "porous" D.
i thought they actually looked quite pitiful when they played us, we were just SO bad at the time it didn't even matter.
then they beat up on one of the worst teams in the league.
so the cowboys have shown absolutely nothing positive IMO.

the eagles have kicked around 3 of the other worst teams in the league, and blew a huge lead to a team that suddenly isn't looking so good either...

I agree with dcd - I am not convinced that Philly is for real yet - They have a very good QB but they really have not beaten anybody yet - that game against NY was a major choke job - Plus their bad stretch will come later this season - they play at Indy, Carolina at home and then they have to play 3 away games in a row against the Redskins, gnats and pukes  and then Atlanta.

Dallass is probably our competition in this division but they really did not look much better than us in that effort. We have improved our play a lot and IMO they haven't!

I look for us to win this weekend and the begining of the end for some players and coaches in NY will begin.

Pukes versus iggles - I'll take whoever, but after the last games by both teams, I think the iggles lose this - However, I never want Dallas to win
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

after carfully considering these posts i have decided to cheer for a tie. Boss Hog had it right first. it was somthing that didnt even enter my mind. obviously i lack the omnipotent mind of BH to realize there is a tie column. I missed it totally.

i think i might edit the thread to say, "we should cheer for a tie"
