Are we good enough to beat the Giants? Ofcourse. Do I think that we'll beat them this week? Probably not. Things just never seem to go well for us when we play at the Meadowlands. But the main reason that I think that we'll lose if that the Giants have had 2 weeks to get ready for this game. That is a huge advantage to have.

We have a team with a can do attitude and a team that plays together.
The giants do not look like they believe in each other or their coaches. In the past I often felt they had an edge over us in that they, on most occasions lately, seemed to want it more than we did. When we won (like the last game in DC) it was because we played with the type of intensity that we are now seeing on our team.
We will win this game because we are the better team and we are playing as a team.
3-2 baby

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

That's not true at all. Did you watch the 4th quarter comeback against the Eagles?? That was all Eli and the passing game.
That was a major let down by the iggles. The gnats are not playing together very well and do not seem to want to.
Their D is ranked 14 out of 16 teams in the NFC and their pass defense is also 14

Redskins are # 2 in rush D and # 7 in total D in the NFC

Yeah, maybe two weeks off is good for some teams, but not this one, and not at this time.
The best thing for the Gnats would have been to have played (and played well) just after that nasty loss to the Hawks. IMHO, think the time off was actually a hinderance to their phsyche, as too much time to think of all the $#*t they'er going through at this time.
Conversely, the Skins are very jeeked and know that this is a must win, (conference and all) and won't have a let down.
Hail!!!

We can absolutely win this game. Absolutely. There's nothing special about these Giants. At this point, they have no clear direction, and they're suffering from a general mistrust between the staff and the players. Shockey, in particular, can't seem to contain his displeasure. Of all people to call somebody out, Arrington came out in the media and literally told Shockey to shut up. Shockey, some say, confronted Arrington in the locker room saying that he hadn't earned the right to say anything to anybody yet. The secondary is more that just "suspect"; it's non-existant.
There's also the historical aspect, for those who place any stock in that sort of thing: The Giants tend to suck in the first game after their bye. I won't qualify our chances with any "if"'s. We can absolutely win this game.
Anybody know the status of Springs?

Over 50 posters will answer this question in the Hognosticationssection of this board. They will put their knowledge and faith on our team on the line. Will you?
-DEFINITELY- or not?
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

What makes me

Still, its gonna be a tough win for us. I think people overestimate infighting's impact. Arrington and Shockey don't play together and I can guarantee you they won't be thinking about each other in the middle of a play. Nevertheless, I think they'll both find ways to screw up on their own and we can DEFINITELY win. I have a better feeling about this game than I did previous to the Jags games.

I agree... I don't know what it is, but the Giants always seem to start really fast against us in New York, and we don't seem to recover well, whether it's the offense committing 8 turnovers or Tiki going off for 200... we definitely need to score first or at least early to keep the crowd under control...
I think the Giants have the 2nd ranked passing offense in the league right now and that doesn't bode well for our 25th ranked pass defense. We need Springs healthy and we have to control the time of possession. As already mentioned we don't seem to play very well at the meadowlands even when we have the better team. We can definitely win this game however.

Don't you think that the Giants passing yards are a bit inflated by the fact that all they could do is pass when they were down by 17 and 39 points in the last two games. I look at Eli's 8TD and 5 INT's and this looks like the type of game for our secondary to get healthy.
I obviouosly hope we do win, i expect us to win, but that's why the play the games. If we can get out of the gates fast, Shockey and Coughlin just might get into a WWE fight on the sidelines!

I think that's going to be key. The Giants are a team already staggering due to a bad loss and some internal turmoil, so it's going to be important to strike first and keep them from regaining any momentum (and to maintain our momentum coming off the huge win Sunday).

For real! Better yet, with Lavar "covering" Portis coming out of the backfield to catch. Just let Lavar rush three steps toward Brunell and dump it off over his head for 20 yard gain. I predict this will happen multiple times. These coaches know Lavar's weaknesses, that's for sure.

I live in the NY area, and I think you are right on. I'm not clear why they are so down either.
On D, they are very good against the run and horrible against the pass. That is good for us because they are going to have to man the line to contain Portis and are not going to be able to help out the secondary, which will be torched versus our burners. This could be a breakout game for Lloyd. Last week was a start, but he also had the ugly fumble.
It's important we contain their O though. We can give up some yards but can't give up long drives w/ lots of third down conversions that eat up the clock. If our D keeps improving, we will win.
