That makes me a moron, then. Don't feel bad. I'm not taking it personally.
I'm confident that Clemens, Tejada and Petitte are clean, and have been. Clemens, especially. He's one of the last of the truly flaky pitchers, as is Pedro. Neither of those birds is going to put anything into himself that he's not completely sure of.
Are you basing your opinion on the whole Piazza deal? That's understandable. Being an idiot is not exclusive to steroid abusers. It's not inconceivable that Clemens is simply an aggressive, arrogant guy who won't hesitate to brush you back(his own kids, included!) when you crowd the plate. (Particularly if you're .300 or better against him.)
I'm sure he was aiming for Piazza right where he hit him. His reaction to the beaning(and the followup in the Subway Series) bears that theory out. Roger's a headhunter, and for that reason, I don't miss him in pinstripes. I don't hold him in a higher regard simply because he was a Yankee for a while. Petitte, I do...but not Clemens. Pettite takes too long to heal to be on anything stronger than Bag Balm.
I'm certain this will all play out in favor of these three guys. The only thing that bothers me about this is...I think this is going to hasten his retirement. He's got nothing left to prove now, except that he's clean, and I'm not sure that's the best reason to come back yet again.

Dude, this has nothing to do with Piazza. I don't even know why you brought his name up?
I'm just saying that I believe and have believed that Roger Clemons has taken steriods.
I mean, people always point the finger at the home run hitters for using steriods: Bonds, Sosa, McGuire... because they did.
But I guarentee you just as many pitchers where using the juice as well. Fricken Clemons is like 40 something years old and is still throwing in the high 90's, naturally... okay.
I guess I'm just one of those guys who believe everyone is guilty until proven innocent about steriods in baseball. And I think the only people who aren't are the guys who love the game and believe baseball is America's game and all that.
And if you ask me if I think NFL players take steriods... well duh, I'm sure like 50% of the league takes steriods.

If it comes to bear that Tejada is on steroids, then is Rafeal Palmeiro's story that he got a B-12 shot from Tejada and that must have been why he tested positive become feasible? Could Tejada given him the wrong syringe??

Rocket went from being a fat, washed up SP with the Red Sox to suddenly becoming dominant with the Blue Jays, then forcing a shady trade to the Yankees.
His hat size probably grew two sizes in that span as well. I hope Roger gets his just desserts and gets slammed for roid use.

I've never thought that Clemens was a "stand-up guy", and I bring Piazza up because I'm a Yankee fan, live in New York, and I saw the whole thing over and over and over and over...and then got to listen about it for the next three years on talk radio around here.
The general attitude around here (if you're a Met fan, anyway) is that Clemens must've been juiced, based on his bat-shard throwing, bugged out reaction to Piazza's staredown.
I don't think steroids were the problem. He's just an idiot.
