Michael Haynes...
I liked this guy when the Bears drafted him in the 1st round 3 or so yrs ago. He got cut this year by the Bears since they are stacked at DE. He's still a FA right now. I'd like to see the Skins at least give him a tryout. Maybe a change of scenery could help him out and give us another quality DE. We went for Courtney Brown last year, Haynes can't be any worse than him, or Andre Carter.
He couldn't even latch on with New Orleans, so I say pass.
I can understand him not lasting in Chicago because they have good depth but he should have at least been a backup in New Orleans.

Are there any 'character' issues with this guy? I remember him, I used to think he was going to be a good player in the league. Sean Payton would definitely be a good litmus test as far as character, I think he is really cognizant of those thing with what he is trying to do down there in NO. I wonder if he could have passed because of something other than talent.
All this aside, I would bet that this guy plays this year somewhere.

I think he's worth bringing in for a workout. He's got a lot of physical skills, and seems like the kind of guy Gregg Williams could get the most out of. Especially nice since Phil Daniels is so old.

By my count we are thin at DE, absolutlely. I love Daniels, but full season health is my concern with him. Wynn is a solid team guy, but he is old, and let's face it, the Andre Carter experiment is not happening as planned, not even close. Demetric Evans has showed promise, but is still developing. I don't know enough about Haynes right now to advocate for him one way or the other, but if you ask any defensive coach in the league he will always want more depth at DE. (Except apparently CHI)....
