This is why were bad...
I believe last year we had great system players, players who were team oriented stayed in the system and got the job done. Think about it now we have guys like archuleta who was lousy with the rams the last two years. Then Bloyd who I knew was going to be a problem, think about why he was hated so much on the niners, he was selfish and put himself first!! Plus a 3rd and 4th for this guy!! then carter who just cant rush the qb. Rumph who just cant cover. Right now i would love to have harris back.

I'm just curious, are you actually a fan of the Redskins? Are you Walt Harris? Seriously though, we did make some changes that appear today to not be upgrades. We are very thin at CB but I think that with Walt, he was blown in coverage just like the other guys are now but he came at a higher pricetag and also he is a bit older. As for Arch, I think that he is going to take some time but by the end of the year you all will see he will fit. Carter, he is getting used to our dline systems.

I think the whole post is drivel, but I'm going to address only one aspect of it... Brandon Lloyd.
Total hog wash. Nothing could be further from the truth. Like everybody else, I'd heard all the media crap about Lloyd before we got him, so when I was at camp, I was interested to see what kind of a guy he was. So I spoke to him and couldn't believe who great the guy was. Not only was he polite, and courteous, but attentive too. He gave intellectual answers to anything asked of him, and he also spoke of nothing but the team. In fact, he always speaks of nothing but the team... ever since he got here... just check his radio show on Redskins Radio. He was also one of the most gracious players with the time that he spent with the fans at camp. he was the only one to stay on the field to sign autographs after the Ravens scrimmage on Fan appreciation Day... so really... the only guy that even thought of the fans on the day set aside to appreciate those fans.
Now I can't profess to know what he was like in San Francisco... maybe the guy just had some sort of life altering moment in the offseason (I doubt it)... or maybe he was just doing whatever he could to get out of San Fran... or maybe this is just yet another example of the false impressions that the media can conjure up. But I can say from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE that you won't meet a better guy, you won't meet a more engaging player, and you certainly won't agree with anything that waltharris has said... not one little bit.
Now Walt Harris on the other hand...

Its un educated people like you who make Gms. You but into hype your the kind of guy who has a hard on for mike vick and thinks he is the best qb in the league, because he runs fast. Face it we bought into the hype of all our horrendous fA pickups. New enland, pittsburg, even san diego build through their draft picks to build systems. This is why you dont see them overpaying garbage like Lloyd.1niksder wrote:waltharris wrote:I believe last year we had great system players, players who were team oriented stayed in the system and got the job done. waltharris... you're new here... you best check the rules... we don't allow you to attack a poster... stick to addressing the post itself.
Calling someone uneducated doesn't have anything to do with the post. if you want to attack someone personally, take it to smack.
Attacks won't be tolerated in any forum but Smack.
It's all in the rules. You might want to check them out before you can't post here anymore.
Thanks.

5. Agree to disagree. Everyone's opinion counts, is valued, and should be respected. If you can't respect someone's point of view -- ignore it! Personally attacking another poster by name-calling will not be tolerated. You may call someone's comments "stupid" without calling the person who made the post "stupid". Take any negative personal stuff to a private message, e-mail or the Talking Smack forum.

WOW this one out did the last one.
If you are educated then I guess you know you just attacked the poster and not the post. I kind of understand since there wasn't much there to attack, but that's what happens when you start a thread that as an UNEDUCATED topic, posted by someone that has no knowledge of the subject that they think they want to discuss.
If you brought into something and are let down two weeks into the season then maybe you should stop buying into things so quickly, but don't group me with anyone and definately not with you. You've olnly been here a hot minute and have went from not knowing what you are talking about to attacking "the wrong one" after the lost. But if you want to play like that we got a place for it. I'll save you a spot.
BTW Welcome to the boards and don't forget to check out the Main Page, then come check out that spot I saved for ya. (you should be educated enough to find it)

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.c ... HML4D1.DTL Lloyd caught 48 passes for 732 yards and five touchdowns during a down year for the 49ers' offense. However, his abrasive personality angered many players. Defensive players particularly found him unsavory and a few of the defensive leaders, during a meeting between Nolan and selected veterans, told Nolan the locker room would be better off without Lloyd. Lloyd also alienated teammates when he refused to take any blame after backing off a pass at the goal line in the 17-9 loss to the Bears in Chicago in November. Lloyd repeatedly said quarterback Cody Pickett "threw the ball too early."

I believe he did....6 years $30 million!
But I've also heard nothing but positives about B. Lloyd. I really like the guy from what I've seen. I could probably do without the "Crackers back in San Fran" song lyrics, but who cares....my street cred isn't what it used to be anyway.

He hasn't been a problem in the locker room with Skins so that's not a tag you can put on him being it came from Nolan (in his 1st year with the team) and that pass wasn't catchable

Wow Walt Harris you're right we lost soooooo many players last year that it's really effected us. (SARCASM) Ryan Clark is gone, Lavar (who wasn't even a starter) is gone. Sorry that theory is bogus.
And Brandon Lloyd is selfish? Have you ever heard the man speak? Do you own a television set? I've heard him be the least selfish person at Redskins Park. I've seen him go out there and never say a word even if he only gets thrown to once.
Either way, welcome to the board and I hope your posts because better researched and better aimed in the future.

Just a hint, when you try to rip on people for being "uneducated", try to at least be coherent in that insult.

Totally agree with Boss Hog about Brandon Lloyd.
Anyway, the guy has only played two games for the Redskins, and its not like he's out there dropping balls or anything. I think BLloyd will still work out to be a nice pickup for the Skins.

I guess the question that maybe should have been asked is, "do we overpay for players that once they got the money so-to-speak, shut it down?"
Someone on the radio bought up an interesting stat about our last 4-5-6 years. During that time, we have signed 21 guys that made the Pro Bowl before they got here and none have reached the Pro Bowl since. Hmm.....
The other thing that should be considered since no one at Redskins Park "appears" to be giving straight answer, is this:
For the past two weeks, we've heard how hard these guys have fought, how hard they work in practice, etc. Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe this team just isn't that good? I mean, since the only information that we are getting out of Redskins Park is how hard they work and how hard they fight.
I am now going with the notion that we are just not as good as people think we are; since one or two injuries on the defense has caused us to look mediocre and we are finding that GW's system is not as "plug and play" as we thought; since Gibbs is stubbornly going with a guy that is clearly passed his prime; since our offensive line featuring two Pro Bowls (Samuels and Jansen) are having trouble handling people one-on-one let alone in a blocking assignments; since the semi-retirement of Clinton Portis' alter-egos, I am resigned to the fact that we are not that good until we can solve all of these issues, beat Houston, punch Jacksonville right back in the mouth because they will be bringing it in two weeks, and put together games for the rest of the season where our offense scores at 17-21 points and the defense only gives up 14-20....

All this after only 2 regular season games???

I think as a fanbase we are thinking this through waaaaaaaaaay too much.
Yes, it's alarming, but, already disqualifying our team after two games , IMO, is a bit much.

No..it's gut check time. There are people on this board who will not settle for this. Besides...the majority of the fans see the writing on the wall with Brunell at QB.

Redeem,
Maybe you're right!!!! I'm just tired of talking and hearing about all of this and just want to see this team "right" itself. We deserve to get back to those glory days. We've been waiting too long to toast to another ring that it's spawning impatience and posts like this one, especially after all of the money we have been spending to get people in here. We got our savior back at the helm and I guess we are asking too much too soon.
I don't know....

Well, always look at the bright side. At least NOW we have the "privilege" of being angry at a team we believe to be playoff-caliber. For 12 years, we were pretty much a laughingstock. Now (during the offseason) we were considered Super Bowl contenders. Imagine that!!!

Let's give this team a little more time to jell before we throw them under the bus. Even if we go 0-3, we're just a 13-game win streak from going 13-3.

Back and better than ever!
