Just got back from the toilet of Texas Stadium after watching the Redskins there for the 16th straight year...clad proudly in burgundy and gold each time.
Blame a'plenty to spread around for this one. Brunell? Certainly. Boneheaded penalties by the bushel? Yep. Being 2-14 on 3rd down? Yeah. Six or seven three-and-outs? Right. Allowing Drew Freakin' Bledsoe to beat you? Wow.
Not just a whole lot of positive to take out of this one to Houston. And being 1-2 is a world away from being 0-3, so that game is now nearly a must-win...if only for the sake of the team's confidence. Losing to the Texans would be disastrous. (I'll be at that game, too.)
This game turned on ONE play. Brunell's bad decision which got intercepted by Roy Williams. You know...If he just throws that into the 14th row right there, they probably at least get a field goal and have plenty of time left to give themselves a chance. Then again, after watching that play again via the miracle of Tivo, that defensive back had his hands all over

Anyway...I have a question...
Is Al Saunders trying to force a square peg through a round hole? Does he have the personnel to run his Kansas City offense? Or is that system not meant for a team constructed like the Redskins are? If we see the same kind of output in Houston that we've seen thus far, what's to be done? Does Gibbs take over the play-calling duties? Verrrrrry interesting.
For those that are saying it's not time to push the panic button, I will just say that it's NEVER EARLY in the NFL. When your whole season is 16 games, they're all of extreme significance. And the more you win early, the less you HAVE to win late.
See y'all in Houston.
