yes, i hate to see games decided (or at least very heavily influenced) by the refs. everyone should, it ruins the integrity of the game. please don't try to pretend that PI call didn't have a huge effect on that game because it did.

all that aside, i also said i'll take a giants loss anyway i can get it. the reason it sickens me is BECAUSE when i see it happen to another team, it reminds me of the 2 or 3 games we will lose this year on blown calls (just like every other year).

Heh... I thought he called himself that because he only plays in nickle defensive packages. I saw him blitz a couple of times, and get in Manning's face, but he didn't get a sack. Pierce was a monster. We should have kept him and let Lavar walk a couple of years ago.

Really, we can trace this whole thing back to the signing of coach Coughlin. If it wasn't for that, Eli would never have really made his way to the Giants, there would be no bad call, and the interception would never have happened. . .

The refs get blame far too easily in this league. I'm not saying that they never make bad calls, but there are a lot of factors in this one.

Was the o-interference fully legit? Correct by the rules but clearly not a good call? Partly legit and a makeup call? Completely wrong and a makeup call? Completely wrong?

I don't know. But no ref forced Manning to make the mistakes that he did in the last 5 minutes of that game. The Giants had more than one chance after that bad call to march down the field. Their D could have stopped Indy.

This bad call had about as much to do with the Giants losing as any bad call in the 3rd, 2nd, or even 1st quarters did. Yes, it's partly "responsible," but ultimately it was simply part of the normal ebb and flow of an NFL game. The most you could possibly blame the refs for the Giants loss would look something like this: "Eli botched the 2 minute drill, and the defense didn't make a stop when it needed to, and the refs made a bad call at one point, and the receiver dropped a pass, and Eli committed a penalty that ran the clock down to :07, and. . ."

Its only one game and it was against the Colts, I think Lemar is as good as Antonio and he is cheaper. I think we have to see Lavar play the season before fully evaluating him. I don't think he will be great, I think he is a solid player, he can change the game for good and bad. I personally thought he played well last year, our run d was a lot better when he came in for Holdman I thought. He really played well in the playoffs knocked out Alexander and the last game had 10 tackels and a int. which set up our first score. I don't think he will be a big loss because Rocky I think is going to be good.

You make some good points but that penalty had a HUGE impact on that game. Instead of having a first and 10 from the 40 (or around there), the Giants had a first and 20 from inside their own 20. That is a major difference late in the 4th quarter of a close game. With so little time left Eli had to try to make something happen, instead of being in decent position at midfield and having more playcalling options. If they were at the 40 they would've had time to run the ball or call shorter passing routes, but that option was pretty much taken away from them by the zebras. I'm happy that the Giants lost but there were a lot of callas yesterday, not just in the Giants game, where the referees were making themselves more a part of the game than they should be. For example, overturning the pick late in the Dallas game. That could've had a huge impact on that game. How the referee came up with conlcusive video evidence to overturn that call is beyond me.

Sorry, apart from the call, which I thought was warranted, the G-strings still needed a TD, not just a FG. I don't think this call made any difference in the game's outcome. He definitely pushed off. He just used his elbow, because he didn't think the ref would notice. Nine times out of 10, he gets away with it. He simply got caught last night.

You might want to check your facts before you post. The Giants were only down 2 when that penalty was called. The Colts kicked their field goal on the ensuing drive. As for the pushoff, that was a joke of a call. If that kind of call was made against Moss or ey this baord would be up in arms.
