Reverses, Screens, Draws???

Post by Texas Hog »

I sure would like to see SS take advantage of our speed with Coles, Trung, Morton and Johnson by using reverses, screens and draws.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't recall seeing anything other than wide receiver screens (quite a few) used.

Does anyone know if SS has a tendency not to use reverses?

I had heard earlier in the off-season that draws would be used regularly, but haven't seen any of those either.

Lastly, I hope SS is using his offensive genius to figure out something else to do on first and goal inside the five other than running the ball up the middle....how 'bout some play action? or trick plays? make the other teams down the schedule prepare for them anyhow....even if they don't work.

I guess roll outs or boot legs with P-Ram are out of the question, because he doesn't have the wheels? Can someone tell me if he has the capability?
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

The draw play would help to stop all the blitzing, hopefully they'll utilize it on Sunday.

giants lb's and db's are kinda fast to the ball, i think play action will have a big impact on our offense, i think screens, will help control the blitz, but because of the quick pusuit we won't get many yds. play action will hopefully make those faster guys react to the wrong play, and open up some passing lanes. just my My 2 cents

well, in that case it depends on the match up. don't expect a lot of those plays this week. also the screens won't work well against tampa, or philly.(if db's are healthy) however they could be effective plays against the bears, and the saints. depends on the matchup.

what about the draws? didn't I read where SS was going to use Trung and Morton's speed to run more draws?
