Vikings Haiku

Post by BossHog »

I've been a member of other communities and other forums that do Haiku's to encourage a little creative juice...

Do you knw what a Haiku is? Check it out here. it'll bascally tell you that a Haiku is a verse that has three lines... first line has 5 syllables, second line has seven syllables and the third has five again. (they don't have to rhyme)

The deal in all of the communities that I have been a part of was that you heavily chastise anybody who's Haiku DOESN'T meet the criterion of actually BEING a Haiku. So make sure you know what it is and make sure you check yours to see if it qualifies before you post it... or you're going to hear about it. If you don't like Haikus... STOP CLICKING THIS LINK. :-)

--------------------------------------------

Here come the Vikings,
Prime time game on Monday Night,
Let the games begin.

Smoot's back in D.C
Hey, where is the big party?
Check the marina.

Chester Taylor runs,
Unfortunately for him,
Sean Taylor destroys.

Got poleaxed at Fed Ex Field.

Superbowl season,
In DC 2006.
Just enjoy the ride.

A Saunders offense.
A Williams blitzing defense.
A Redskins title.

(Sorry for not posting this in Haiku form, but I have a quick asside.

Now I had heard in Japan Haiku writing was a really respected skill, and that great poets would write them as love letters.

It seems to me it's pretty easy to write one, why would this be such a respected skill? Did I get that part all wrong, or is it way harder to write these in Japanese? Did there used to be more rules?)
