Half full or Half empty?
Arlight so, we havnt seen that offense or defense that we have soo highly acclaimed with out off season acquisitions. This is where the optimism has to step in...who thought we were going to beat Dallas down by 13 with less than 5 minutes to go...who thought we would go from 5-6 to 2 games away from the Super Bowl...nobody, nobody but us Skins fans....Ive been telling myself the same thing "its just preseason" although after the whooping I was harder not to question...but im done questioning...I have faith in Gibbs and this Coaching staff...and I have faith in these players...I mean Oakland is 4-0 that might be all the games they win all season...or maybe not...all i know is as long as we start the season undefeated like every other team my faith will still be there..so regardless if we get beat up by the Ravens or we come out great...it still doesnt matter... so please no more negativity try to put your worries behind and on Sept 11th I gurantee that worries will be washed away...hopfully for the whole season...LETS STAY POSITIVE SKINS FANS...

I was listening to FSR this morning on the way to work, and Steve Czaban brought an interesting stat to the table, which I was completely unaware of. During his coaching career with the Redskins, Joe Gibbs has gone 0-4 six times in the preseason. Of those six times, all six times the Redskins had a winning record that year in the regular season. It is a valid stat for the fact that Gibbs knows how to turn things around, and make the necessary adjustments. As others have said, this is preseason, I will refrain from worrying until the regular season, and if nothing changes by then, then I will start to question what is best to do for this team. Until then, Lets GO SKINS!!!
My children, gather round! No retreat, no surrender; that is Spartan law. And by Spartan law we will stand and fight... and die. A new age has begun. An age of freedom, and all will know, that 300 Spartans gave their last breaths to defend it!

Maybe Gibbs has everyone fooled and he isn't making ANY adjustments whatsoever, maybe he is letting things run the course that he set everything on. Maybe Gibbs really knows what he is doing and doesn't care about the outcome of these meaningless games. He may actually want to win one or two for the fans but not for what he is doing.
Maybe he wasn't made about the lost last we maybe he was mad about the effort his guys put forward. Maybe it's two weeks too soon for all of these maybes

It is a Gibbs thing to play like this in preseason. It does 2 things: 1) lets players be evaluated on fundamentals without the benefit of a good scheme which may mask individual deficiencies, and 2) gives the coaches a reason to rally the players and put a chip on their shoulders.
I really think too much is made of teams not wanting to give away plays or secrets in the preseason. What Gibbs is doing is putting his team in a position to fail in preseason. It is such a subtle and effective coaching technique that almost everyone misunderstands it as trying to be secretive. It's no secret. These games mean nothing to him and I truly believe he is right where he wants to be at this stage .
Having said this, the real concern that I have is special temas. Our kickoffs and punting are a joke, and something needs to be done ASAP.

just ask yourself this question.. did anyone see brunell and moss have the chemistry they did last year in the freakin preseason? I sure as hell didnt, cause ramsey was throwin to moss ALL preseason? Let me just say brunell to moss worked well last year and predict el and lloyd will add to that and we will score points i promise. I would be very weary making such bold and ignorant statements in preseason especially since some people choked on crow last year! I laugh at people who doubt gibbs especially in his 3rd year.

I don't doubt Gibbs and I know intellectually that the pre-season doesn't mean anything and it was our credo 20 years ago that bad preseasons preceded great regular season's, but it still ain't any fun to watch these games. Plus...PLUS....you can't believe the hard time I've gotten up here in Boston after Sunday's game. Getting trounced by the Pats really sucked. I'm a proud and vocal Redskins fan up here, hang a big flag in front of the house and have the license plate holder. Everyone knows I'm a fan and i got annihilated on Monday.
The glass is half full always for me, but come on regular season! I've had enough of this crap!
Thank you for listening ...I feel better now....

You mean the people who called for us to go to the Super Bowl last year?

It's too easy to be a bandwagon rider and scream Super Bowl every year, and I have no problem with that, but I also don't call out fans (or claim they're not 'true' fans) who make realistic, objective observations about the team. True fans should always have hope, but need not be delusional.
Regarding preseason, it's just preseason. Sure, we've looked ugly, and gotten beat like a rented mule, but Gibbs has never tried hard to win in preseason games. These ugly losses are going to bring our guys back down to earth and make 'em irritated and hungry once the regular season starts, just like last year's 4-12 predictions did.

Just ask them who won the last time the two teams met in the regular season, when the games counted. For the record, we were the last team to beat the Patsies before their first Super Bowl victory. And Spurrier was even the coach.

Hail to the Redskins!
I live in NE too and have had to put up with this bunch of losers for a little over 20 years now - and I was at that game at FedEx and loved to remind everyone at the end of the year that we were the last team to beat them.
This Redskins team will show everyone what a good team can do when the games count and they will be classy when they do it because that's what Gibbs will present to the NFL.
I will be at FedEx to witness the begining of this season and will revel in the glory that is Redskins football - bring it on

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
