Yeah but constantly trading away all your draft picks for so called proven players will really hurt the skins in the long run.

OK, you're right...The Cowboys are always right - America's team. I'm just enjoying MY football team and sipping the koolaid. Just having fun watching MY team get built - why are you trying to wreck my party? What's your point - to show what an expert you are? It must be boring to be right all the time!
I'm just stirrin' the pot and living in the '70s.

What you appear to be saying is that Carter and Hambrick were the worst starting QB and RB in the league last season. That's great for Dallas.

Upgrading the "worst" shouldn't be too difficult. Get to the 5th worst at each postition and a 10-6 playoff team is challenging for the Super Bowl.

Your schedule was easy. Two victories against clubs with records better than .500 and if not for dumb andy reid and his onside kick Carolina would be the only team you beat with a winning record. The Giants and Skins wont be that easy this year not to mention you dont get to play Arizona or Detroit. Dallas keeps bringin up this 10-6 record like they just won the superbowl or something--better take a look at who those wins came against!!!!!

Can you tell me which one of your free agency acquisitions is a proven leader. Inside the lockerroom and out. I challenge you to show me anything.

How about the coach? Ray Lewis is not all that great, if his teammates followed his example they would be locked up right now. Arrington is the leader on defense and Jansen is the leader on offense. You try to argue that Arrington is not a leader because his play last year. He cant do everything. This team has been in the dumps of late because their was not a strong Coach and there was too much turnover. Now we have a strong coach and hopefully the turnover will decrease. And how do you know how much time 56 spends watching film?? His play has been erratic because of the coaching!!

Jerry was not smiling because he was happy....He was smiling because his recent face lift caused nerve damage and he has a permanent grin with a slight twitch.

He has spent most of the offseason looking in the mirror instead of signing players. It is fun to see the downfall of the Dallas owners.

Jerry and Michael Jackson should get together and go bowling.

kRYIN rYAN go ahead with that BS our schedule was easier. The skins and the Cowboys virtually played the same dayum teams. LETS BREAK IT DOWN.

HUmm we both had Philly and NY twicw
We both had the jets, atlanta, carolina, tampa, new england, buffalo, miami

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE WAS you guys had Chicago and Seattle
We had Arizone and Detroit.......

So you can stop crying that Easy schedule crap and come with HARD COLD FACTS.

Oh by the way you guys had New England, Tampa at home , we had them on the road.

So we were basically even.

I hate to break this to you but you cant build a dynasty like the niners or steelers! This is the hear and now, you dont have the time to build through the draft because as soon as you develop players, they want the payday and go elsewhere. You must keep a core group of guys together and plug holes with fa and the draft. This is where the coach is instrumental because it is his job to facilitate team chemistry and get the guys to play together.

I know the argument that is coming...NE Pats!! Now here mine, look what fa has done to the Titans, Rams, Bucs, Panthers, and Eagles. The pats will lose their corner and Washington has gone already. They wont be as strong unless their draft players can contribute immediately. The only way a dynasty can be facililitated through the draft is by drafting sure thing players to replace your established players that bolt via FA and the draft is no sure thing.

Gambit,
you wont here me braging about the skins record. I was stating that you guys arent that good. Seattle and Chicago are much better than Detroit and Arizona. You forgot one thing we had a college coach and still beat the Pats and Seahawks, two playoff teams. Only four of our losses were by a margin of seven or more and we played with no running back, no dline, no qb for half the season, and no coaching.

Miami, Carolina, Philly, NE, Atlanta, TB all beat you by more than a touchdown. Point is that the coaching is all that is needed

The Cowboys have had like 1 winning season in the past decade. Plus, after the Tuna retires after this year, they will suck again.

I'd rather be the Redskins.

That is all boys fans can say to Portis is that Roy will knock him out. I wouldnt count on it. The true impact of Portis will be the play action pass to Coles over the middle and behind the safeties. Can you say "TOUCHDOWN, WASHINGTON REDSKINS"!! Might as well strike up the band...come on you know the words!!

lol, been some funny posts on this topic...my two cents:

I think Wiley is a solid pickup and will be better than Ekuban in that spot, so it's good for the Cows. They got picks so they'll have a RB to draft, it's some good ones out there. Keyshawn would be an improvement over Galloway's recent production, but the ability to stretch the field may be hampered (and issues with Bryant may arise). A smart draft will keep them from the appearance of 'treading water' and towards continuing to improve. In closing, the Cows suck. (Was having trouble being so positive, lol :x <--muggin 'em)

My rebuttals:

--When Parcells went to Dallas last season, I gave the Cows 3 wins for improved coaching (Campo was Jerry's clown), predicting an 8-8 season. They did better than that. So I can safely give the same to Joe altho he hasn't been in the game. Joe Gibbs is the TEAM leader, and locker room leaders will emerge in this latest incarnation of the Burgundy and Gold.

--Two of this years' pick were gone b4 Joe even signed on (Dalton, Chase). In some ways, the deck was already stacked against him with that. But every handyman knows to fix an engine, you need the proper tools...Joe's got to get the proper tools, and sometimes you just gotta play your hand...perhaps they could've been miserly and held firm to the picks with their dying breaths, but there's no guarantee with picks either, so you go for what you know. Parcells, in comparison, did step into a more stable situation, with Jones crafting HIS team and Campo being coach (Snyder crafted a team for 3 different coaches in the same span, far less stability)

With Joe, we've got a DIRECTION, the stability will follow, and next season, we'll have 7 picks in the draft more likely than not, and will be back on track acquiring more depth on the cheap...
Two formation shifts, one man in motion, and a counter trey...those were the days...

So what about that one winning season, you don't have an answer so attack a guy for making his first post on a site intended for Redskin fans. Why don't you go back to the cowpoke boards, you are not wanted here. If Redskin fans had written half the crap you write they would be banned and the thread would be deleted from the Cowpoke boards, At least give us that much respect or shut your hole! The Cowboys may have owned the Redskins in the past few years, but you certainly have not owned the rest of the league. Have no fear Joe Gibbs is about to change all that. Say what you want now, but get ready for the a$$ whooping the coach is about to administer. :moon:

Calm down NJ, we're all friends here.

All my friends that are Cowboy fans keep telling me that Roy will put a hurtin' on Portis. How is he gonna catch him? Roy was getting fat last year, and Parcells even commented on it. I think He said Roy was one cheeseburger away from being a linebacker. What are they gonna do when he has a couple more cheeseburgers during this offseason? Portis is too quick for Roy. Roy can hit as hard as anyone, but he has to catch the guy first. Emmitt was going so slow last year that I could have caught him, and I'm a fat bastard! As far as your end situation, anything is better than Ekuban.

Ahem Ahem let me look here.....

Ari 53-28-1
Atl 14-8
Bal 0-1 Baltimore won the only time we played them in 2000.
Buf 6-3
Car 4-3
Chi 11-8
Cin 5-3
Cle 10-17 Cleveland leads
Den 5-4
Det 9-9
GB 14-11
Hou 0-1 Houston Leads
Jax 2-1
KC 4-3
Mia 4-7 Miami Leads
Min 13-11
NE 7-2
NO 14-6
NYG 50-31-2
NYJ 6-2
Oak 3-5 Oakland Leads
Phi 51-38
Pit 15-13
Stl 13-13
SD 5-2
SF 13-16-1 San Fran Leads
Sea 5-3
TB 8-3
Ten 6-5
WAS 52-34-2

So Baltimore has a Game on us the year they won the SuperBowl, Houston has one game on us. Cleveland has 7 games on us, Miami 3 games, Oakland 2 games, San Fran 3 games. Looks like we pretty much own you and the rest of the NFL aside from 4 teams really, 6 if you count the one game, considering we haven't had a rematch?

As for 1 winning season in a decade I'll help Gambit out here too.

93 12-4 SuperBowl Ring
94 12-4 NFC Championship Loss
95 12-4 SuperBowl Ring
96 10-6
97 6-10
98 10-6
99 8-8
00 5-11
01 5-11
02 5-11
03 10-6

So in a decade 2 Rings, NFC Championship game, 4 loosing seasons? Yeah I can see how that could be misconstrued for 1 winning season. I guess that's why he didn't bother answering such a stupid question from a Rookie?

:explode:
Typical Cowboys fans never quite get it do they. It's fine and all that you guys are on the board, it keeps things active and debates are always being discussed. BUT when it comes right down to the knowledge you THINK you hold for the skins nation, you are dead set wrong! Gibbs has always been big on trading picks and picking up veterans. Its what he does and does well. Its his formula, and that formula brought us 3 trophies. :hail: :hail: :hail:

My father is a hardcore Cowboys fan and the rest of my family is split between them, the skins, and the collasping G-men. Each know more about there franchises then the other rival family members respectively, and none of them would throw out a remark about how Gibbs is hurting the skins. That like us saying that Parcells is gonna screw things up in Dallas. Yeah Right. The level of stupidity or better yet running out of excuses of why you think your franchise is so much better is the meer fact of why our rivalry will never die.

One things for sure each of us in the "East" will all be competitors. Every year the Giants are predicted to go far they collapse, every year they tend to stumble ....they kick it back up a notch. I still put them in last place, but not by much. The Eagles with or without TO will be in the run of things and should make the playoffs but I wouldn't be suprised to see them slip this year to third place. The Cowboys will either win the division or stumble, which I don't see happening at this moment but they have to upgrade at QB and RB and have a strong draft to keep their boat afloat in Tuna's system. :lowblow: HTTR

That leaves Us. I say we either edge out the division or more likely make the wild card. I say we hit the playoffs and anything goes from there. As we've seen in the past few years in both Baseball and Football...the wild card is very underrated but can devistate the favorites and pull off huge upsets. Barring a serious amount of injuries I see the Skins making the playoffs and turning some heads. Within 2 or maybe 3 years tops I see another trophie on the Horizon. I'll also say this that in the next decade we will see multiple trophies come to our division and NONE by the Eagles. Its a bold statement, but its my opinion, and I'm sticking to it.
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.
