Will Joe Gibbs give it up?
The man has high morals. In his prior role with the SKINZ, he spent 24 hours a day at Redskins Park. Now, he is trying to repeat his success while being a real person (only working 16 hours a day) and running some NASCAR stuff too. He was shocked by the 36-0 loss to the Giants last year and now he gets 1 41-0 pasting from NE.
Unlike lots of other people, Gibbs has the guts to say this ain't working, and walk away for the benefit of the franchise. Could happen.

We have our craziest post of the day.
Gibbs is going to walk away from football over a PRESEASON GAME, 7 months after winning a PLAYOFF game????????
Please guys. Try to maintain some perspective. Last night's game was completely meaningless.

Yes.. could happen. Of course a flaming G-gurlz fan could leave and relieve all us skins fans of a huge headache too... that could happen right? I guess they both have the same chance of happening. But just to go out on a limb, im guessing that a few bad preseason games wont stop a leader of men and arguably the greatest coach in the history of organized football turn tail and run ala Spurrier. especially after Being 1 game from the NFC championship and making some key additions in the offseason. No.. i would think Tommy Coughlin would be quicker to give up after the surly mind numbing frustration of never even REACHING a superbowl, and having his own star players question his abilities, preperation and play calling prowess. Hate on troll...

I have been a skins fan ever since 1991. Now i know that i'm among great chiefs in our worldwide tribe, but i myself am not worried. i remember last year reading that the redskins would finish last place and that we just might be the worst team to be 3 and 0. and now i read that we are to be 8 and 8 this year NO RESPECT. lets not give up guys the redskins will rise form this.
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS, HAIL VICTORY!!!!

Welcome to the board warpath1410, don't forget to check out the main site if you missed it
Here's the Homer answer: This is just what Gibbs wants, coming into the preseason all the talking heads were jumping on the bandwagon. Before the season even starts they are breaking their necks trying to get off. Gibbs likes it when he's the underdog.

I've asked you repeatedly to follow the rules. You choose not to... or don't even read them... I'm not sure which.
Don't really care either, consider your account suspended.
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

The history of the Redskins, according to elchalje:
1. Overspending Snyder gets old-man Gibbs out of retirement.
2. Gibbs immediately has health problems while visiting Mark Brunell--he is already falling apart.
3. Gibbs flops immensely in his first year, falling to a paltry 6-10 and losing every bit of respect that he may have earned in his previous career.
4. Gibbs is too stubborn to realize that he's lost it and tries again next season.
5. THE GIANTS BEAT THE SKINS 36-0!!!!11!!1! OMG!!11!1!!!
6. Er. . . .some other stuff happens *fingers in his ears* LALALA LALA LALALA
7. NEW ENGLAND BEAT THE SKINS 41-0 in preseason!!!!1!!! OMG!!1!!!!
8. With chaos all around him, Gibbs is completely baffled and considers re-retirement.
Needless to say, I see things a little bit differently than this. . .
