Washington could have interest in another ex-Giants linebacker, Michael Barrow, who was released yesterday for salary cap reasons. But NFL sources said the Redskins probably would go after Barrow, one of the league's leading tacklers, only if they can get him at a relatively low price. The 33-year-old middle linebacker was due to count more than $5 million against the cap this year. Barrow refused to take a pay cut from the Giants, leading to his release.
I like Barrow but signing him would make him a starter and the only one he would/could/should replace is Marcus Washington but I don't want a $24 million backup! Gregg, please go to the 3-4!!!

He wouldn't replace Washington, he would replace Trotter because Barrow is a MLB. I doubt we sign him but you never know. I think they want to give Trotter one more year.

What draft? We only have two picks!
On that note, I LOVE Sean Taylor, but we NEED more low round pick to fill out this roster. I think we should trade down. I am extremely concerned by our free agency gameplan.
Mike Barrow is a pretty good linebacker, but I would much rather save that money for later and keep Jeremiah Trotter as our starting MLB for at least one more season.
He was hurt in his first season, and had a good year last year. I am all for giving him a shot.
Gregg Williams should definitely go to the 3-4 though if we get anymore linebackers. It would make the problems we have on defense less important, and magnify what we do well and have a lot of...LB ..
Barrow won't be coming to DC. At 33 and the salary he'll demand, it won't fit. He's got a couple good years left in him but it won't be in DC. I wouldn't be suprised to see him go to Kansas City. Or go back to the Giants for less money.
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.
Im going to have to say no to Michael Barrow he is old (33) and is going to want to much money. I would much rather sign Warrick Holdman he is a beast, Lead the Bears in tackles last year and is an up and coming player at 28! Hail to the Redskins!
I question Mitchell as a starter. He lacks the speed that is needed but he does have a nose for the ball. Slow footed is not something that should earn you a starting job. I have to figure that if we go with him, its because we lack depth.
