Well...last Saturday - the power supply was installed and guess what .....

It DIDN'T WORK - soooooooooo.... the guy calls in and they tell him they are ordering A THIRD MOTHERBOARD AND 2ND PROCESSOR and it won't be in till Friday, the 18th....and the technician will call to set up an appointment, blah, blah, blah.

Sooooooo....the guy leaves....I call about 10 diffenent numbers and talk to 10 different idiots...and as you can guess...I was not very pleasant....but...I DID find out how they screw the public with their WARRANTY.

The NO LEMON POLICY comes into affect AFTER 3 Service / Repair calls (here's the catch - "as determined by us") and on the 4th you can file a complaint with Corporate for a NEW COMPUTER.

So...the status on MY CASE is....out of the 10 million phone calls and 4 in home installations of parts that don't fix the problem ONLY TWO of those calls are considered 'COMPLETED SERVICE CALLS' because only TWICE did they leave the house and actually have the computer working (even though only till the next day). That's what they consider a COMPLETED SERVICE CALL. The times that they leave when it's not working and they order more parts are not considered "completed".l

So....the same technician that was here last Saturday will be here THIS Saturday to install the new motherboard and processor and as soon as he boots it up I'm shoving him OUT THE DOOR to make his call into the shop. That way - when it doesn't work 3 minutes later and he's already called and said it was working - I will call in 10 minutes making that call our THIRD COMPLETED SERVICE CALL and qualifying us for a new computer.

What a royal scam job. I went onto the BBB website and checked out Best Buy and you should see the complaints - all service related.

Wish me luck ! Or should I say wish THEM luck. I'm soooo fed up !

Just tell him they better fix it or you will install another motherboard in the technician next time he comes out.

Skins Chic - Perhaps you should consult an attorney. They seem to be walking all over you, and your BBB complaint won't be enough pressure for them to comply, IMO. My 2 cents

probably a RAM issue before they started working on it, now they've probably screwed something up which is why it won't power on.

It powers on - it's just that it reboots again and again and again for no apparent reason.

But you think since they have been messing with it so much they could have messed it up ?

Wouldn't surprise me.

if it's still the original problem, it's unlikely that they messed anything up, it just means that they probably don't know what it is so they are replacing part by part, would be easier and probably cheaper for them to just give you a new machine. However if the problem is a different one then it's likely the cause of something they did.

The whole computer was restored / recovered and the hard drive was replaced.

The guy that's supposed to come by today probably won't be able to make it before I have to leave for the game but he's going to try.

He called the other night and said his son's football coach just hit them with a scrimmage this morning and he doesn't know much more than that. I understand that completely I used to have to go through that with Jake all the time when he played football, so I wasn't a witch or anything. But I hope he makes an effort to jump through hoops to work around my schedule during the week.

Always something !! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!
