Leinart finally signed

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

for sure 14 mil, 51 mil with incentives.

1st qb picked in the first round has MAJOR incentives. all you have to do is get there. dosen't matter if you ever do anything else...

No biggie missing camp. No way he's playing this year anyway. I'm sure that's just what his agent told him.

I was reading somewhere (SI?) about those incentives, and how agents throw them in there to 'puff up' the contract, although the player has little chance of collecting them. Ex: The Raider's 1st pick, Michael Huff, collects an extra $200K each of his 5 yrs on the contract if the Raiders reach the Super Bowl and if he's named MVP. Like that'll happen. Meanwhile, the agent gets to brag he added an extra $1M to his client's contract.

...and gets to include that amount in his commission, I'm sure.
