Your favorite Redskin?

Post by JPFair »

O.K. Since there's a lull in posts in Hog Wash lately, I thought maybe I'd try and at least get a decent size thread going by asking fellow THN brethren who their favorite Redskin players are. I'm sure this question has been asked before, but probably not since the magic has been brought back to Redskin Nation by King Joe. And in one sentence or less, give your reasons why you choose that player?

So, on each side of the ball (Offense, Defense, and Special Teams), who would you say is your favorite Washington Redskin player? (Only one player for each side of the ball)

I'll start.....

Offense..........Clinton Portis.....Quick, versatile, great personality, and wants to win.

Defense.........Marcus Washington....The man is a beast!!

ST.................Mike Sellers.....Always in the thick of things.

And of course, while I respect, admire, and worship all of our Coaches, I fully believe that Joe Gibbs is deserved of the legendary status that he has so rightfully attained in Redskins land.
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

SOMETHING MAGICAL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

Offense: Mark Brunell - as the founder of the "Tailgate for #8" (Est. 2005), I am committed to rooting for the wily vet all the way to the Super Bowl trophy.

Defense: Marcus Washington - A linebacker who lives up to the hype?? After being let down for so long by our LB corps in recent years, bringing Marcus on board has truly been a shot in the arm, and has me believing in this defense.

Special Teams: James Thrash...nuff said.

I really like Shawn Springs, but have to go with ST on defense. The guy is a force.

My favorite offensive player right now is RANDY THOMAS. I hope he bounces back from the injury this year.

Offense = Jansen
Defense = Taylor
Teams = Thrash

as many of you know, I am a firm believer in players who make the team better by virtue of their playing the game within the concepts of the game plan and by trying to be leaders on the field and on the sidelines.

I think Jansen is a great example of an NFL player and if there were to be an overall leader or captain he would get my vote.

I love how Sean is becoming an NFL player and think we will see a more disciplined and better player this year. I think he has grown up and is going to be a truly great NFL player. I think Washington is the leader but Taylor is about to flourish because of Williams and, as I mentioned, I think he's a better person for all that he has been through.

I love Thrash and his willingness to do anything for his team and his coaches.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

O: Portis. On & off the field he does everything you could hope for & more.
D: Taylor. Can turn a game around faster than anyone else right now.
T: Jimoh. Kamikaze pilot on coverage.
C: Gibbs, hands down.
