Arrington Smack Talk

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Arrington Smack Talk

Post by patjam77 »

Wow...never thought I would say this but Arrington sounds like a whiny brat to me. This all after the Redskins made him a VERY wealthy man for many years.
May #21 never be worn again by another Redskin but may every Redskin play like they are wearing #21 on their backs.

It seems surprising that he said that.one minute he says he has nothing bad to say, then the next minute hes bashing the team.Lavar used to be one of my favorites on the team, but i keep losing more respect everytime he goes on one of these bashing. We will see how much differant it is with the Giants. If he cant get along with Gibbs then how in the world is he going to get along with Coughlin?

that whole article just makes me cringe... seeing Arrington and Pierce playing side by side is going to be tough... if I knew we were going to win 4 of 6 division games this year, I would pray we beat them twice...

And lose twice to the Eagles? (I'm not giving up a sweep of Dallas). 6-0 in the division!

Why does he still feel the need to prove ANYTHING to the Skins????!!!!

If anything, he should focus on trying to get out of training camp without injury and"HOPEFULLY" making an impact on his team.

He won't criticize Joe or Gregg 9probably negotiated as part of his buy-out...err...sell-out), but he takes it out on Danny?

My first inclination is to think that he's really gonna get a negative reaction when he comes to FedEX, but, at the same time, it doesn't surprise me. On the field, Lavar has always wanted the spotlight. And after two years of getting little love in FedEx, he's gonna try to get the light on him by any means necessary, even if it DOES mean burning the bridges with the fan base.

Can't say I didn't see this comin'. :puke:

I was gonna question whether this belongs in this forum, and call someone out on it, until I read the following portion of the article, which, in fact is "hogwash":

but it's a shame sometimes how they do their star players. But things worked out for him -- he has a new team, some new money and we're glad to have him."
Said Pierce: "I was really surprised because he was labeled as Mr. Redskin and the team had invested a lot of money in him and two years later, he wasn't wanted. It was kind of shocking. But that's the way things go. One minute, they love you; the next minute, you're no good.

I can understand Pierce talking a bit about being an "unwanted star" in DC, but, DUDE, LET IT GO ALREADY!!!!

Chad on the other hand (comments pretty in pink) ...what entitles him to say ANYTHING about stars mistreated in DC. Did he ever even play for us? Other than wearing make up, what on-the-field talents did he display while in Washington???

I'm a tornado of anger right now. Swirling about!! :explode:

Cruthes? :hmm: you lost me there brother....

Anyway, I'm nervous too about having Arrington on the other line, but then again, I wouldn't be surprised to to see Saunders exploit Arringtons penchant for over pursuit and nondiscipline. Arrington made some awesome plays for us, but I also have many memories of seeing him turn around to try to catch up to the play after it passed him by. Not because he's slow, but just because he was out of position. I wasn't that sad to see him go. Would have preffered to another division, but overall I think we are no worse off without him.

I am not personally worried about Arrington and facing him on Sunday's. If our legendary coaching staff didn't think he fit then so be it. He can talk all he wants to but that isn't going to help himor his team get to the superbowl.

When he is out of position when trying to tackle Portis, that will be 6 for us and dumb look on his face for him. The coaches know his weakness, the players know his weakness, he be exploited and burned.

I'm certainly not a MOD but this topic should not be in HOG WASH.

Arrington is now "Around the League" material....plain and simple. It's an insult to refer to him ever again in the HOG WASH forum.....in my opinion.

"It's the same old thing every year," he said. "They bring in somebody or do something to create some kind of buzz. I'm sold on the fact that they want to create a preseason buzz and don't care whether they win or lose so they can make more money."

Yeah, sure Lavar. The Redskins don't care whether they win or lose so they can make more money. That's why they brought in Joe Gibbs and Greg Williams and, this year, Al Saunders. It's all about making money.

What a freakin' idiot.

Arrington is just blowing smoke and running off at the mouth, as usual. His examples of wrongly let go ex-players just doesn't wash. For example, Shottenheimer has never, I repeat never, been close to a Superbowl. His teams have lost in the first round of the play-offs. Last years Redskins got deeper into the play-offs than Shottenheimer ever has. The ex-players he mentions that have not been kept, have been replaced by better. Only Arringtons position could be considered in question as there is no real replacement for now.

Here is my opinion of Arrington's statements!!! ->

Why can't all of our ex-players just keep their mouths shut when they leave. you know Lavar was really well liked by all the people around here, but it seems he doesn't care too much about that cuz every time he opens his mouth and bad mouths the Redskins organization he loses more and more people!!

Shut it Lavar!!!!

An Ernest Byner fumble at the goal line cost Shotty one SB appearance and The Drive cost him another. He coached several good Browns teams past the first round, and two years ago got SD past the first round.

Just a case of ego and juvenile antics.

It shows the mentality of many on the Giants team.

LA should just :-# especially after his non performance over the past two years

the problem is that LA doesn't even know it! ... and it may very well work out that way!

I think L.A. comments are absurd.. but Just to let you know... Marty HAS been very close to a superbowl... More than Twice. Ever heard of THE FUMBLE? ever heard of THE DRIVE? AFC championship games that marty was in fact the coach.... Just to let you know. Also i believe there were a few years that he took the chiefs deep into the playoffs.. but not sure if they ever got to championship game.

It could go different ways, some may think it belongs in smack due to the title, some may think it belongs in ATL and some in Hogwash. The last two options are debateable but since Crutches is talking about the Redskin organization it belongs here. If Crutches was talking about the Bengals, it'd be in ATL.

This man has it right. I hope all you Lavar fans root for him when he comes to Fedex so I can boo you all too. Lavar, lavar lavar, get off of his jock. He's not a Skin!

Lavar is NOT A REDSKINS THEREFORE HE IS THE ENEMY. He's been injured for the past two years, he hasn't lived up to the hype AND WE'VE BEEN SUPER SUCCESSFUL WITHOUT HIM.

Jason Campbell hasn't had problems with different schemes and he's playing a harder position then Arrington.

What?!?! Jason Campbell hasn't taken a single NFL snap. I'm not saying he's not talented, etc., but he hasn't played a second of a 'real' game. Sure, he was great in college, but so was Ryan Leaf. You can't compare the college game to the NFL game - if they were the same, there wouldn't be so many draft busts.

The fact that he can't/won't :-# is a large part of why he is an ex Redskin.
