No ESPN, so I couldn't see it.

Would you say it's beter than the first season, after 1 episode?

Is ist more real now that Rocky is making a movie instead of pretending to be a boxer?

How has ESPN revamped the show?

Yeah, I really like the Contender this season much better than last years circus. With just Sugar Ray it seems more real. Also, they don't do anymore of those silly "reality tv" types of contests during the show, it's all about boxing now and about the men (and their families to a lesser extent).

They show every punch like four times. It makes it look like the fights are a total slug-fest, with the guys trading punches all the way. I wouldn't even be surprised if the chronological order of the punches is altered to make the match look more back and forth. It was an entertaining show, but there was too little fighting and training and too much trash talking.

I like the contender but it's a rip-off of The Ultimte Fighter on spike. I like boxing and I love MMA but The Ultimate Fighter shows the entire at the end of each episode. If you haven't checked it ut yet, give it a shot Aug. 17th on Spike. It's just as good as the Contender and some of you may like it more.
