Great, great Bill Simmons piece on picking a team. I considered this after the World Cup, I'm going to do it now that Simmons has helped me make a pick: Liverpool.
The top 10 Steven Gerrard goals montage?
WOW ... just amazing
I think the second-to-last goal is the most impressive. My plate is already rather full sports-wise but I find soccer very appealing. I've tried, without much dedication, to follow MLS but, frankly, it bores me.

I would readily follow EPL but there's that whole business of trying to watch games here in the US.
That was a great article. I was living in northern London for a few months (big Arsenal territory)--the season where they had a perfect (or was it near-perfect?) record--and I could never get too into it because of the bandwagon stigma.
If I could change 2 things about TV it'd be the addition of EPL and rugby. I miss those Saturday afternoons with back-to-back games.

Ironically, I wrote a post asking for the EPL fans to help me pick a team. After reading all 6,000 words, I think I agree with your assessment. I've seen Liverpool play against Arsenal in the FOX Soccer Channel and I like the make-up of their team.

All well and good, but no true fan chooses their team - the team chooses them. You get pulled in by a team before you know what's happening, and then you're stuck with them forever. Choosing a team is a preposterous exercise. Try watching some games, and it will come to you.
