This is a great article stating that Gibbs is better than Belichick.

I sent a comment in. We'll see if it gets posted.
Essentially I said that I agree that Joe Gibbs is one of the best head coaches....ever; however, you really can't compare him to Belichick, citing Gibbs' performance in the 80s-90s, because you're comparing "apples" and "oranges".
The game was much different then, no salary cap, less player movement, etc. There is a lot more to being a head coach now than then, in my opinion.
I said if Gibbs is able to win a Super Bowl now, in today's game, then he can certainly be considered ahead of Belichick.
For now, however, you just can't compare the two and decide "who's better", in my opinion.

Belachump, basically had the same teams. It was Gibbs who had three different teams (QB's , RB's, WR's, etc.)
well like others up here have mentioned.
-lets see 3 superbowls to three superbowls.tied there.
joe gibbs did it with three different qb,s ...stands alone today...let alone different teams to boot...
-now he has a better overall winning percentage than belichick.....
-now here is where it,s a runaway.
-joe gibbs retired from football and pursued auto racing, 3 cup titles there and counting .
so that makes it three superbowls with three different qb,s teams and won 3 cup titles with 2 different drivers in nascar with joe gibbs racing.let alone 49 cup rces won...
that to me is where it all stops right there to me.
football to football you really can,t argue success from either one.
good read there .......

This Ownership Has The Quarantine Virus..
Joe has taken four teams to the SB and five to the NFC Championship game. He also did it consistently for 10 seasons. Yes, BB has taken 3 teams to the SB, but only over four seasons. Bill is a defensive guy and Joe is an offensive guy. Of the two, Joe has been, by far, more consistent.

that further proves my point that joe gibbs stands alone while other copaches remain looking up to joe gibbs.
i agree joe has been more consistent over a longer period of time.

ive lived in New England for all of the pats victories ..
to watch the team develop and change has been interesting... and the sports casters never really talk about it..
the first superbowl victory was a coming out party for brady.. the whole team was great.. from top to bottom and you have to give the credit to the coach..
the second victory was brady taking over and dominating, comeback victories-last minute touchdown drives an all around clutch show stopper at qb.... the team was changing though.. not as good, different players but still tight
by the third superbowl the team was falling apart and bill was plug'n guys in all over the place.. troy brown played both ways for heavens sake... without brady it wouldnt have happened.
in conclusion, bill set up a great team and when brady came into the line up it was prepared for a victory.. he had the whole team but no qb. brady walked into a perfect team. once it started to fall apart brady took more of the work load and helped them along(also with the addition of dillon)
bill wouldnt have won more than one superbowl without brady.

JOE Gibbs would never loose like Bill did in Cleveland. Wouldn't strike shortened season make it harder because those players would need more coaching than veterans that have played in the NFL and know the system already, I thought so. Bill has had a good 4 years, Joe has had a great carrer. Bill has never won without Tom Brady, the Hogs were seperate units, Joe has proved he is not dependent on one player or unit.
