How much better are the Redskins?
They've probably improved by two or three games with their nine acquisitions. The biggest improvement is on offense. They have a big-time running game with Clinton Portis. They have a great one-two punch at quarterback with Mark Brunell and Patrick Ramsey. Walter Rasby is a good role player at tight end. Tom Tupa is an experienced punter. The defense may not be as good without cornerback Champ Bailey, but the depth has been upgraded with the signings of defensive linemen Phillip Daniels and Cornelius Griffin, linebacker Marcus Washington and cornerbacks Shawn Springs and Jarametrius Butler. The Redskins could add Panthers linebacker Greg Favors, and they are looking at University of Miami safety Sean Taylor in the draft.

Hopefully we can make the playoffs, but we are in possibly the toughest division in the NFL.(NFC South is also very tough) It's gonna be hard for the teams in both these divisions to get even the wild card spot with all these teams evenly matched. Everyone will split games and that will mean more losses and it would be much harder to make the wild card. I can't wait for this season to start. It's gonna be a fun one to watch. (too bad I won't see many games, since I live in FL)

it seems that espn has their eyes on the skins no matter what i tend to beleive that with the players they have added along with getting back joe gibbs is enough for a playoff run maybe. and i,m talking just this year.they are acting like joe aint even there but thats ok too.

not to worry, i'm positive that joe et all haven't forgotten that they have to actually pay their draft pick(s). i feel confident that they have a much better handle on their cap situation than we do, or even those brilliant guys over at espn (is the sarcasm coming through? i hope so).

they all can assume we should do this ,we should do that.
you put it right the great minds over at espn. i,m sure they have a firm handle on things.

How many does our DL win or should I say lose for us?????????
Our DL is starting to shape up- Cornelius Griffin is a proven run-stopper, which will free up our safeties, hopefully Sean Taylor and Ify. Marcus Washington, Lavar Arrington, and possibly Greg Favors will be a fearsome trio. I expect Lavar to come hard on blitzes this season. Greg Williams knows what he's doing- don't worry about the DL... yet.

We can't depend on our LB's and Safety's for a pass rush, if we had a good pass-rushing DL we wouldn't have to always blitz so many guys. The more LB's and Safety's that blitz, the more guys will be open on offense. Blitzing LBs and Safety's should be an option, right now we'll HAVE TO just to get a decent pass-rush. Griffin, Upshaw, Noble & Dalton are run-stoppers. Daniels, Wynn & Haley, I don't know what they are good for and the other guy's aren't worth mentioning. So my ? is - Where is the pass-rush coming from? If we blitz to much, who covers the RB, FB & TE on dump-offs? We need at-least 1 pass rusher, someone who can draw a double team, thats when those tricky blitzs work. Carolina can rush 4 guys and get great pressure, but when they involve a LB (or 2, or 3) or a Safety (or 2), it's like a TORNADO coming through. We don't have that option.

Wins from last year!
Take a look at where we would have been if we would have had this team last year.
Just count how many games we lost by 10 points or less.
If we win them we are in the playoffs. No question about it.
What does every body think about that?

i think newman(pukes) was number 5 last year, and if memory sevres correctly he got a 13 mil signing bonus over a 7 year contract. that put his cap number somewhere around 2 mil for the first couple seasons. As we stand right now, in terms of the cap, do we have enough money to even sign the 5th pick in the draft. How much comensation is the 5th pick suppose to get?

You're right, we don't have any decent pass rushers, yet. Jevon Kearse wanted too much money and, frankly, I'm glad we didn't sign him. What about Udeze? The kid had a bunch of sacks last season. I still would rather take Taylor in the draft and go after a pass rusher in FA. Who's left?
