Interesting C. Rogers stat

Post by Chris Luva Luva »

Wash Times wrote: In his last three regular season games, Rogers had 22 tackles, four pass break-ups and two interceptions. Rogers turned the corner against San Diego when he replaced an ineffective Harris. He officially became a starter the next week.

Carlos is going to have 10 interceptions this year, I guarantee.

I completely agree with you. :hail: He almost had one more in the Seahawk playoff game last year. I think he will be at the top of the league in int’s this year. :celebrate:
The team is all there is.!

Rogers, Springs, Taylor, Arch

All four are probowl caliber players. And that is without a pass rush.

It's not a stretch to think we have the best starting secondary.

I completely agree, the question will be can the secondary survive injuries. I think they will be able to, but only because Williams is brilliant.

I can't think of anyone off the top of my head but but possibly the Ravens. Atlanta and Carolina both are really good and don't forget about TB.

Look at our stats vs these other teams. We were terrible in the take away department. Its too early to tell on Rogers. I think he'll be a servicable corner but to say that he'll be a shutdown is a bit premature. He can be and I hope he does but I don't want to be a homer and say all that. I am going in optamistic yet cautious just like last year and am going to be happy with a winning record.

A winning record is a slightly low mark for my tastes. Barring major injuries, I would hope for improvement this season, meaning the NFC Championship game or SB.

Toss in the fact that they probably have the best secondary coach in the league in Jerry Gray... The potential to see this group be absolutely dominant, especially if they can get an improved pass rush from the down linemen, is absolutely scary.

Again, I'm basing everything on stats alone. I want us to be the best but comparing last year with the two upgrades I think we will be one of the better secondarys but not the best. Call me negative.

Ask Skinslavar? What about me? I'm still hoping for a good suggestion for a new name. Any ideas?

Last yrs stats don't tell the story for this yr. We had a lot of injuries, I hope that won't happen again. Rogers & Taylor are still improving. Arheleta is a big addition. I didn't say LAST YRS secondary was the best. We should be much improved this yr.

I wouldn't bank on 10 int's Carlos Rogers has also showed he is injury prone, he is been injured twice already. Remember Julius Jones beasted out his rookie year in playing as many games as Rogers and faltered the next year. It is possible that could happen with Carlos.

:) The man may not be saying what you want to hear, but it's a valid point. So many players seem to stall in their second year in the NFL, after having a promising rookie season.

I don't think anyone but a Skins fan thinks Rogers had a promising rookie season.

I think he can shut down any big receiver (Owens, Brown, Toomer/Shockey?).
Want a jump ball in the endzone?
Not with Rogers. Now it's 50/50.
A team is going to think twice about that.
Name me another Corner that plays the ball in the air as good as Rogers.

But I'm a Skins fan.

INJURY REPORT
2001 -- Underwent surgery on Nov. 12 to repair torn ligaments in his right thumb.

2003 -- Sat out the Arkansas game after he fractured his left thumb in the Tennessee game. Had surgery in October and returned to play with a cast on his hand in several games.

Yes Rogers was injured, but I'm going to wait to call him injury prone.

The guy was the 9th overall pick.
He's not some bum who could end up being a decent second corner.
He has all the talent and is perfect for Williams' system(argue that one).
He is a #1 corner.

I'll ask this.
Would you rather have Rogers or Smoot as your second corner?
(SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTT) sorry it's hard to hate the guy with a name like that.

Not as good as Cooley though.

When healthy? Rogers, I never said he was a bad player, but he has gotten hurt a lot, people on this board all they want to hear is Redskins r the best ever. It is possible he can get hurt a lot, he got injured in mini camp with the Skins and he got injured during the season this year that is twice already.
