Tour of Fed Ex Field

Post by Justice Hog »

I have a Redskins Extra Points MasterCard which awards points based on the number of purchases, redeemable for cool Redskins stuff. I already secured two VIP passes for this year's training camp. I had purchased two VIP passes for this year's Draft Day Party as well but when that got cancelled, I was refunded the points I had used.

So, instead, I got a tour of Fed Ex Field for two people. I got my letter today confirming my tour and asking me to call to schedule it. I'm really excited about that! I think I'll be able to go all through Fed Ex Field, including the locker rooms, etc. I intend to take my camera with me and, if allowed, I'm gonna take pictures as I go and post them in this thread later.

Jake won a contest a few years back and we spent the day at Fed Ex with several players. Also got the grand tour of the place. It's pretty awesome.
You'll love it. We have pics of us in the players bathrooms, showers, press box, locker rooms, etc...etc..lots of fun !

Hah! Too funny. Actually, a buddy of mine (an avid Redskins fan) and I are gonna ride our Harleys down one day and tour the stadium. I'll keep you in mind if he bags out, though.

Have fun screening all of the calls from the crazies now that you posted your phone number on the internet!

I wouldn't expect to see too much, we were just there on Friday and it was dusty and dirty and being renovated. The field is actually not painted yet either, the grass was just planted Thursday according to the ticket rep who showed us around.

Perhaps it would be better to schedule it closer to the pre season to see a bit more.

Hah. You're funny. Actually, my "brain farts" are few and far between, thankfully. I got the date my quickly glancing at my desktop calendar off to the side and it's set up a little differently than others I'm used to.

So...

Someone's getting "probation", not going to "jail". \:D/

Okay, here they come. Today, my friend "Greg" and I rode our bikes (Harleys) down to Fed Ex Field for the tour, starting at 1:00 PM. Luckily, the rain held off and we were able to make it down there and back home without getting rained on. And yes, we wore our helmets....in compliance with Maryland law.

Once there, we were greeted by Catherine Matthews (Senior Manager, Marketing & Client Services) and Jeremy Stevens (I don't know his title, but he assists with the event marketing/coordination at Fed Ex field.)

A couple of things about Catherine I'll point out (because I know all of you guys will after seeing her pictures):

1. Yes, she's really hot. (She's much "hotter" in person than her pictures reveal.)
2. She's also really, really nice. (Something tells me she would be a blast to hang out with in a social setting. She seems to have an absolutely great personality.)
3. She's also really, really, really married! Sorry guys.
Lucky husband, huh? Wife = hot, friendly AND works for the Redskins!!!

Moving on. Here are the pictures of today's tour:

OUR TOUR GUIDES

Image

The first place we met was the location of my Dream Seats. They're at an awesome location! Here's a picture of Greg and I standing directly in front of my seats.

Image

After that, we got a chance to hang out at the entrance where the players come on to the field. DON'T STEP ON THE GRASS!!! THEY JUST LAID DOWN FRESH SOD!!!

Image

Image

From there, it was a short walk to the Redskins locker room.

Image

Image

Image

Right next to the locker room was the Redskins training room.

Image

When you walk out of the locker room, look up and you'll see this. Something, I hear, many Redskins players "slap" on their way out to the game.

Image

After you leave the players' locker room, you go across the hall to the coachs' locker rooms.

Image

Image

Near the coachs' locker room is Coach Joe Gibbs' office. I had the opportunity to actually sit at his desk!!! So did Greg.

Image

Image

Now, you walk down the hallway and eventually get to the opposing players' locker room. Something really cool about that location. Unlike the Redskins locker room, which is one big room and plush, the opposing players' locker room is actually two separate rooms (so the whole team can't dress together) and the carpet is just plain nasty. It's not a very "inviting" feeling. You tell me.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

From there, it was off to the media room....where Michael Wilbon and other journalists watch the game and prepare their post-game stories.

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

After the media room, it was time to check out the Club Level, but on our way there...you pass this room, which got me dreaming.....

Image

Okay, now on to the club level.

Image

Image

And here is where the awesome post-game parties occur.

Image

A view from the club level seats.

Image

Image

After that, the tour was over. I had a great time, as did my friend, Greg. My many many thanks to Catherine and Jeremy for showing us around!

We didn't see any players or coaches because they're all at Redskins Park...which is the next place I'm gonna try to get a "tour" of.

Hope you liked seeing what I saw today!

ROTFALMAO
That's the first thing I thought when I saw that! I could almost hear Gibbs saying, "Are shoes on the menu today?"
Anyway, thanks JH. Looks like you had a real good time...but please tell me you didn't leave without her phone number!

Didn't even make the attempt because:

(a) She's married;
(b) I have a GF already; and
(c) I'm a "loyal" kinda guy.

I was gonna take a picture of the bathrooms, but didn't feel it as appropriate after I used them.

Kidding.

Actually, I saw the bathrooms and all...but just didn't feel like taking a picture of them.
