I think we should go with younger guys. That means neither Holdman nor Seau.
What I was saying is bring him in to tutor our young linebackers like Macintosh. I would like him to just pass his wisdom on to our Defense it couldnt hurt having him on our squad.

great point

It should be pointed out that the Redskins' interest in Seau hasn't been comfirmed anywhere.

I feel like a move like this would be a sidestep. Not a negative move, but not exactly a leap forward, either.
We're okay where we are.
I've head it up to here with Name Brand Linebackers. Let's try young and/or generic for a while.

if thats how the coaches felt, then we wouldn't have brought in Collins at QB.

There should be a mix of experienced vets and young players. As for the LB corps, we have more younger/less-expereinced guys. I don't mind adding Seau - as long as we don't have to cut a promising prospect that in a few years will be pro bowl caliber.

50 Campbell, Khary 27
53 Washington, Marcus 29
54 Simon, Kevin 23

Too old, too expensive, too injury prone. We don't need any LB's to coach LB's, we have the best coaching staff in the NFL. A 38 year old LB is the last thing we need. More depth at CB & OL would make more sense.

EXACTLY! The move is not needed. We dont need any freaking mentors on defense....WE HAVE MARCUS WASHINGTON! He's a veteran, he's the face/leader of this defense.

We have Lemar Marshall who rose up through the ranks to be the QB of the defense, who better than him to mentor those guys who "arent good enough"! He used to be one of those guys but he made it through hard work.

Seau is cool but he's past his prime.
This is not 2000/2001, we dont need anyones sloppy seconds.

They didn't bring in Collins to be a locker room leader... they brought him in because he's played for Saunders and knows the offense... Seau hasn't played for Williams and he doesn't know Williams' defense...

He was a great player in his prime like Mike Barrow. We've been down that road before....

Yet sooooo many are sooo anxious to travel back down it, just to start more "WTF is Gibbs doing?!?!?" threads.

TO clairify, I'm for signing Junior to about 1.5 mil or less per year, with a short contract (hopefully only 1 yr) and low signing bonus. Barrow would have been a good move if he were healthy. And if we didn't give him such a huge bonus, we could have just got rid of him after the first sign of health problems.

John Clayton reported this on ESPN and Cold Pizza several days ago. He merely stated that they were talking. The fact that we have not heard anything since, tells me that this probably won't happen.
