Gibbs will do better than Spurrier

Post by BossHog »

Once again, the 'Skins are doing a wonderful job of stockpiling offseason talent. The team grabbed a former All-Pro in quarterback Mark Brunell, late of the Jacksonville Jaguars. While Brunell may be on the backside of his career, he is still one of the top 15 quarterbacks in the NFL. The 'Skins added an All-Pro running back in Clinton Portis and a budding star in former Alabama and New York Giants defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin.

But the biggest move by far was persuading Joe Gibbs to patrol the sidelines again. No offense to Steve Spurrier, but the "Genius" didn't quite understand what it takes to build a winner in the NFL.

Joe Gibbs

Post by RedskinsRule56 »

For those of you who think Joe Gibbs has been out of the game too long and wont succeed you are wrong He has been a part owner for the Falcons for the past 4 years and still is very familar with the game. Also the offense that he created with plays like counter try and gut50 are the basis of many of the offenses and plays team use today. The Minnesota Vikings offense is formed from Gibbs plays! Joe Gibbs will have tons more success then Steve Spurrier could ever dream of having!! :D :D :D :D :D :D. Hail to the Redskins!

Just out of curiosity, who are you addressing? The people on this site are pretty much unanimous on the issue of Joe Gibbs.

Let's not forget about your own players while your bagging on ours!

The Crass of '85 was a great one!
Raphael Cherry - Murdered his wife
Terry Orr - Ripped off teammates for thousands
Barry Wilburn - Armed Robbery
Dexter Manley
Signed Darrell Russell after his drug problems and rape charges.

Don't make your team sound like saints!
Philly Lost!

Couldn't have happened to a nicer team or a nicer set of fans!

ROTFALMAO

yeah, let's compare, here's what I can remember but if anyoe can add any, do so nicely:

Dwayne Goodrich - two counts of manslaughter
Michael Irvin - arrested with a piece of crack the size of a golfball once, just how many times did he get caught with coke?
Nate Newton - arrested with 213lbs of weed after being caught with 175 lbs of weed... and within two months of each other... that's 388lbs of mellow cowboy
Barry Switzer - possession of a .38 in an airport
Leon Lett - numerous drug charges
Erik Williams - sexual assault of a 17 year old
Harvey Martin - sexual assault, coke... hell, he even made Landry look bad when Landry justified it by saying:"Somebody can use coke and it's like beer to some extent. We're talking about recreational coke. That's a big difference with chemical dependency."
Rafael Septien - sexual assault of a 10 year old girl
Lance Rentzen - sexual assault of a 10 year old girl
Bob Hayes - selling drugs to an undercover cop
Laary Bethea - assault, theft, and then he shot himself with the .38 that he held up 2 variety stores with that same day
Mark Tuinei - died from an overdose of a heroin/ecstasy mixture
Thomas henderson - arrested and charged with sexual assault and false imprisonment after exchanging crack for sex with two minors, one of whom was wheelchair-bound

I didn't bother with any of the misdemeanor charges like jerrah jones' because I only have so much free time.

William Bennett, the former Secretary of Education went so far as to contend that Irvin and the Cowboys were "hurting this country's morale."

I think it is really sad that any of this happens - on both sides of the ball - Geez, to just throw your life away.

Sorry, just got bummed when I say Cherry and Wilburn.

Thanks, Boss... Looked through the comparative Cowpokes list, and all I saw was a massive case of Carpal Tunnel syndrome. My wrists thank you!

No sweat, I'm just sorry I ran out of gas... I'm sure there are many nore, but that was what I could remember.

Hey, I'm new here. Looks like a great forum. I love the signing of Gibbs as our coach. He still knows football, it's like riding a bicycle, you will never forget it. Hopefully our O-line will be healthy and Portis can run wild, like he did in Denver. The big key for us is health. Portis has missed a couple of games the last few years and same with Brunell and Springs. So hopefully our signings will turn out to be healthy. At least we won't drop another great RB because our coach likes to pass.(stephen davis)

Gibbs portfolio speaks for itself as does Spurrier in the collegiate level I wish Spurrier the best of luck wherever he ends up and I have no doubt in my mind about wether or not Gibbs still has it in him. The man is a genius! Three quarters of the league's coaching all branch off from 3 coachs: A)Gibbs B) Parcells C) Walsh. People develope a system and they run with it it braches off and before you know it everyone wants to be the same. Gibbs is God to us and to the rest of the league he is a perfect example of excellence as is Walsh and Tuna Boy.
I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.

The end result is Cowboys 5 super Bowls and Skins 3 superbowls...

Oh and please dont go there about the old NFL championship system. Because when we came in the league is when the rivalry started.
