The worst player on our current roster.........
Todd "fricken" Collins.......I just saw where the Dolphins picked up Joey Harrington for a 6 or 7 depending on how he plays.
Right now our QB situation has battle tested but old Mark Brunell who can play but is really one hit away from retirement. Jason Cambell who is talented but has never started an NFL game and Todd Collins who has not played a meaningful game or was out of football for the past 6 seasons.
Find me a weaker QB situation in the league right now.
Collins is deadweight, I can't believe we signed this guy cuz even though he knows the Saunders offense he can't play!

Todd Collins is here because he knows this offence, he will be able to teach Jason Campbell thye ins and outs so when his day comes he will understand it. Brunell will need to fine tune this offence, a vet like him know aspects of all offences, he will just have to get familar with it. On paper looks like it might be trouble, but we are ok.

I agree with you about Collins. He's definetly not our future, he's just a mentor for our current QBs. I think we're all set fot the season, most of our holes are covered. I'm worried about CB and QB.
If Brunell stays healthy, we'll definitely succeed. He has all he needs, great RB, great TE, and handfuls of WRs. I agree with you, if Brunell is taken down, we're in trouble. Though Campbell has great talent, he is not ready for the NFL level yet. But you never know, he's smart, we'll see how much he's progressed in pre-season. Collins shouldn't have been signed as a QB but as a coach
CB is a problem, whatever you guys say. If one of the guys goes down, we don't have a sufficient number of CBs that can START. This problem can be contolled with Williams' coaching and #21 and #40 in the secondary, but I believe this is the weakness in our D.

"I was on the sideline and guys were talking about the score, and then it hit me -- we won by 21. I came in the locker room and I yelled it out, and immediately I just kind of broke down in tears. Because I miss Sean, you know."

So you're saying you wish the Skins would have traded for Joey Harrington
Let me tell you, if Joey Harrington had to end up playing for us, then we would lose every game he started.
Collins is not here to play, NO number 3 QB is on the roster [u]to play[/i] in the NFL, just as an insurance policy, or in our case, a teacher.
IMO, Todd Collins was one of our best pick ups of the offseason, if not thee best...

Well, a quick look on Redskins.com suggests to me that Collins is by no means the worst player on the roster. For a start, he's been an NFL quarterback for 11 years. OK, he hasn't played a lot, and his QB rating is mediocre at best, but you don't get to even hold a clipboard for 11 years in the NFL unless you have something that coaches like. That something is presumably more than a nice smile and the ability to hold a clipboard.
Take a look at the roster - there's a whole bunch of names on there you've never heard of, and I'll guarantee that some of them must be worse than Collins. You think that Casey Bramlet is better than Collins?
Anyway, I'm just being pedantic. What you're really saying is that you don't like our QB situation? Yes, there is some worry about Brunell's body, and whether Campbell is the real deal. Collins really is there to help Campbell along, I think. I think that Brunell can have a great year this year, with the defence spread out all over the place and Portis running in space. If he gets hurt, then this might be the best situation that Campbell could hope for to enter the starting position. He's got a lot of help around him, and I'm hopeful he'll play well given the opportunity.

Trust me; Harrington is here with thr Fins only to start the season, if Culpepper isn't ready. All things around camp indicate that he is ahead of schedule and rehab is going well. No set date however; for jogging, concerned the Fins enough to trade for Harrington. This so-call trade, has been in the works for months and shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Harrington is from the same class that produced Ramsey and you see what we got for him. If Brunell hits the dirt, Gibbs will bring in a veteran QB before the games over. Here's a worst QB line-up: K.C Chiefs:
Damon Huard
James Kilian

The weaker are always anxious for justice and equality. The strong pay no heed to either.

The fact that our QB situation is less than ideal doesn't mean that Collins is the worst player on the team. These are 2 totally different issues. We have no way of knowing if Campbell is ready to start now, or for that matter ever will be as he hasn't taken a single snap in a real game & not that many in last yrs preseason. There are plenty of worse players on roster now. many of them won't be by opening day. Lets reserve judgement.

There can't be a weaker QB situation based on what you're saying.
Mark is a aging veteran, coming off a year that he fell 2 games short of a Super Bowl start. Jason Campbell hasn't done anything and hasn't been asked to, on this level but he did do pretty good playing NCAA ball. He's got a year under his belt and is full of potential, but has yet to be needed.
I'd say having these two guys as the QBs on the roster makes the Redskins better than a lot of teams around the league. When you throw in all the great thrid string QBs that are floating around it makes the Skins situation look crazy - why have a 3rd string that will only play in case of emergencies know and understand the offense, why would he need that kind of knowledge. The 3rd stringers are getting more and more practice time with the starters, so knowledge of the system isn't something that should consider when evaluating the QB situation. Now Kerry Collins at number 3 we would have been set

I fail to see the logic of this statement. Do you think it would be better if we had to bring in a QB who DIDN'T know the system????

If you can';t play, you can't play. Todd is just..well.... bad. Proved it in Buffalo andsat pine/ sat out over the past 6 years. So many other qbs were available when we signed Collins that have much more potential to help the team on field. IMO we would have been better off signing any number of QBs who could adapt to/learn the Al Saunders system in a few months and preform better than Todd Collins even though he has been in the system for years.
Spurrior used the same "knows the system" cra*p line of logic when he brought in former Gators like Danny Weurfell and Shane Mathews who were fricken terrible QBs just like Todd.
Because IMO he cannot contribute at his position I consider him deadweight and therefore the least valuable/worst player on our roster.

Of course, the key difference is that Wuerffel and Matthews were brought in to compete for the starting job, while Collins is being brought in to hold a clipboard.
If the Redskins already had two quarterbacks capable of starting (like we all hope we have in Brunell and Campbell), than Wuerffel or Matthews both would have been excellen third string-quarterbacks.
I don't quite understand why you underestimate the value of understanding an NFL offense. I obviously don't know your football background, but I'd be suprised if you ever had to learn a playbook on any level. Given the unique situation (two quarterbacks learning the playbook for the first time), Collins knowledge of system is even more valuable than normal.
Here's to hoping we don't have to find out exactly how horrible Todd Collins really is.

#1 Its not like Saunders is going to come in and just insert the same playbook he had in KC with Todd. We are not suddenly going to stop seeing screens to moss and no H back.
The offense will be combined yet different enough that Todd will only have a slight advantage knowing the previous chief O.
#2 Many other quarterbacks who are more talented could have come in at the same time we signed Todd, learned the new combined system, and actually been a viable starter at some point.
#3 Shane Mathews and Danny Weurfell were both as you may recall listed third on the teams depth chart at one point or another during thier brief stints here, played poorly, and did not help the team go to the playoffs. In fact the best of that era was 3rd stringer Tim Hassleback.
#4 I heard Shane and Danny played lots of golf with steve-o over thier careers here.........I understand Todd likes golf as well!
