we trade taylor to jacksonville in the near future for maybe some draft picks or something?just a thought.seen where jimmy smith retired, would maybe be a good pickup for jville and a new start for taylor.

Taylor who?...not Sean Taylor. His only problem we had was with him spitting and not returning phone calls. Let the coaches straighten that out. His only other problems stemmed from being in Florida. Why send him back to Florida to generate more problems for himself?.....UNLESS YOUR TALKING ABOUT TAYLOR JACOBS...then send him.lol.

If you're talking about SEAN TAYLOR, my friend, than you are most certainly what your username says you are.

But, I have a strong feeling you meant Taylor Jacobs. Perhaps a return to Florida will do him well.

Make sure you bring what you're smokin to the tailgate.

My question is this. Why does Taylor need a new start in Jacksonville? Taylors problems aren't with DC, the coaches or the Skins organization. Taylors problems are within himself and will follow him wherever he goes until he grows up.

What Jake probably meant was, it's not a bad idea for the Redskins - if Jacksonville or anyone else is offering draft picks for Taylor Jacobs, why wouldn't we trade him? He's certainly not irreplacable here. I agree with you that his problems will continue with another team, but then that becomes their problem, not ours.

Of course, I honestly don't see any team offering us anything for Jacobs. I'm not even sure he'll be on the roster come the start of the season. Moss, Lloyd, Randle-el, and Patten will be there, which leaves what, 1 more spot for a WR? I wouldn't be surprised to see it's someone other than Jacobs.

I disagree. Although I believe that GW can plug and play many people in his defense, Sean Taylor is just one of those guys IMO that you can't let go of. This is the player who sealed shut two of the most important games of our season.

1. The game to get us in the playoffs.
2. The TB defeat.

This is a safety who HAS shutdown Randy Moss and Chad Johnson. This guy strikes fear into the hearts of other players. He single handedly lifted at least 2 RB clear off of the ground and drove them backwards.

Again, I know that we could survive without Taylor but why would we want to? Unless someone gave us 3 1st round picks for him, I wouldn't deal him. I dont think the coaches would deal him for the world. GW speaks so highly of him, the players love him and I think he loves it here.

I think Taylor Jacobs has value as a special teams player. One of the difference in Gibbs' approach to many other coaches is the emphasis he places on special teams. Backups make the squad by excelling on Teams, and Jacobs has certainly done so.

I'd rather have him, wih some hope of him breaking out as a receiver, than some 6th round draft pick that may or may not be able to contribute. I guess there's a difference in salary to consider, but otherwise, why not stick with Jacobs?

It wasn't too long ago that we spent a 7th rounder to get a special teams player from Denver...

draft pick for taylor jacobs?

Post by old-timer »

Are you serious? Taylor Jacobs is dead man walking on this team. He won't make it past July, based on last year's performance. You do know we obtained two highly touted WR FA's, after Jacobs proved to the entire thinking football universe last season that he is not a legitimate starter.

Ramsey was far more valuable to this team than Taylor Jacobs, and we didn't get squat for him.

Any GM that offers any kind of compensation for Taylor Jacobs should be fired immediately, unless he works for the Cardinals, in which case he should be promoted to co-owner, having proven his incompetence beyond a doubt.

there are 13 WR's on roster. 3 or 4 are set (we might get a decent offer for Patten). That leaves 9 players competing for 1 or 2 spots. I doubt very much if Jacobs will be 1 of the winners.

 You're right; we shouldn't trade Sean Taylor. But then, I wasn't suggesting that.

Just out of curiosity, why would you ask this on a fan website? Shouldnt it be directed to Redskins.com?
What does anyone on this board know about anything?

Everyone keeps forgetting about James Thrash. He is more vital to us than Taylor Jacobs.

If you have to keep a 5th Reciever on board then you have to take Thrash. He is everything that Gibbs likes in a player. Jacobs gets banged up and will be out in week 2. Thrash would be the way to go.

And I forgot to mention all of the big special teams plays that Thrash makes for us. How many downed punts did he get on the 1-5 yard line? I lost count.
