Marcus Vick in Miami

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Marcus Vick in Miami

Post by This_Heat »

Marcus Vick will try out with Miami dolphins during their three-day minicamp starting friday.

Miami's current QB's are Culpepper, Cleo Lemon, and Brock Berlin. With the possibility of adding Joey Harrington, chances are slim Vick will play QB, let alone play at all.

thoughts?

gay4pacman - Keep in mind that the 'Phins were willing to take back Ricky, so Saban must think he can help rehabilitate Vick.

I wouldn't count him out yet. As a matter of fact, I'm willing to give him the benfit of the doubt that he's learned from his recnt negative experiences and could, potentially, turn his life and career around.

Granted, it'll be a while until he earns Mike-Vick money, but, he could definitely get there, if he's willing to prepare properly.

I think he'll be in the NFL this season. Don't know with which team yet, but Redeem makes a good point, the phins were going to take back ricky.

Nick Saban is one of the only coaches in the league that could take MV and turn him into a decent NFL QB -- that being said, they've got Culpepper and are moving for Harrington (hehe). I doubt MV will get anything more than reps with the practice squad even if he does make the team.
"The biggest misrepresentation there is that [it's because] Dan's got a lot of money. That's not it," Gibbs said. "We've got a rule. Believe me, if we had no rules, Dan would spend some money."

Money isn't an issue for Marcus because his brother has him set for life. I can see Marcus as a KR/PR specialist or maybe even as a WR. Either way, I see him on the practice squad to start the season (just because of his athleticism). From there, the Dolphins will still be able to retain him because no team will pick up an unproven practice squad player when the goal is to when games during the season. My two cents.

He will definatly be on their team if Culpepper isn't ready to go at the start of the season. But keep in mind the Joey Harrington trade that just may happen also.

If anything, Joey Harrington doesn't strike me as a legitimate starter for the Phins. If anything, both he and Marcus would battle evenly for a spot on the depth chart, and Marcus might just give him a run for the money.

Joey's already proven to be iffy at the Pro level. Marcus is looking to have a shot. I think it'll come down to which one of them is hungrier. Joey is, after all, already a millionaire. Would he have as much incentive to "make it" with the Phins?

Meanwhile, Marcus is looking to shake his bad rap. Just a thought.
