Denies him a chance to be a martyr. Therefore, he's unhappy, and I'm happy. Instead of his glory, paradise, and 50 (?) virgins, he gets to be a number forever.

Indicates that a jury of ordinary Americans has more sense than government officials. ("Golly, how can we help Osama? I've got it! Let's execute this lunatic Moussaoui! Sure, let the entire world count down until we throw the switch and fry the guy! What drama! What theater! What publicity!")

Yeah "America Lost". Right, big boy. I agree that I'd much rather him spend the rest of his natural life in prison rather than die and become a martyr.

At least this way we won't have to see months and months, years of years of appeals commonly associated with someone sentenced to death.

Send him away and let's forget about him.

Feed him to Bubba, Cleevus, and Elmer. Let 'em have a ball (or two) with him!

Much as I'd personally have liked to have been the one to throw the switch on him, I'm satisfied with what he got. No appeals, he can live out the rest of his miserable life without ever being heard from again, and his "martyrdom" will be denied, which will cause him to be unhappy for the rest of what I hope will be a long, boring, tedious (except for those long, sex-filled nights) life.

Unfortunately, none of the bullying folks (myself included) wish on him will ever happen. He's being sent to the Supermax prision in Colorado where he'll be alone 24 hours a day. Yes, he has one hour of "out time" every day, but it will be spent alone.

As far as his remarks go, he was scared to die. Recall his anger when the jury deemed him eligible for the death penalty? Doesn't sound like a man excited for death to me. In fact, now the American tax payers will be paying his meals and board for the next 40 years or so until the douche-bag dies. Yes, sweet sweet justice <eyeroll>

I've seen OZ, but that's also just a show. This is real life. I could only hope that someone, somehow makes it in there and murders him but that's pretty unlikely in that prision. 60 Minutes did an awesome documentary on it a few years back -- it's where they house the most dangerous of the dangerous (Terry Nichols, Guy that orchestrated the first WTC attach in the 90's, etc). However, wouldn't it just have been easier -- and far more appropriate -- to just sentence him to death? God knows that would have taken a good 20 years to accomplish, so both sides would win (ie. He would rot in jail and be executed).

Life in prison = -slow- painful death with -no- political and human rights fallout of any kind.

I think it's 72 virgins. Also, he will be in solitary confinement 23 hours a day. I think the jury did the right thing. this guy is a coward not a martyr, he belongs in jail.

Well, RIC, the human rights fallout only comes from other countries not willing to implement the death penalty -- to be honest, it doesn't really matter much. They can chastise us all they want, but I don't see a federal abolishment of the death penalty coming in my lifetime.

Problem is, yes, it's a slow death. But guess what -- it's a slow death for all of us!!! The fact is, he gets to live while 3000 people died on Sept 11. Those people were terrified and frightened. People calling loved ones on sky-phones to tell their husbands and wives they won't be coming home for dinner, children (flying alone) not able to say good bye to their parents. In the towers, people were burning alive and jumping from 80 stories for relief...only to die in front of national cameras.

You see, this was the most heinous crime in US history. Anyone associated with it's execution should die -- in fact, I would suggest lots of national attention. I would pay $65 to see him die on Pay Per View.

This is a very painful issue for all of us. I was in NY the week before the attack and relatives of friends of mine were victims. So, I will leave it at that.

Me? I don't want to hear his name again. Oblivion, please. And I'm delighted that we won't have the "Moussaoui count down to D day" (D for death) for the next five years.

By the way, people in the WTC behaved with cool courage, rather than cringing terror. Osama BL boasted that he had plunged fear through the hearts of Americans, but it wasn't so.

Almost everyone in both WTC towers escaped who worked below the explosion floors. One of my customers, a woman from the Bank of Taiwan, walked down 81 floors in 1 WTC. Her entire office made it. I used to work on that floor, and remember the fire-drills in the stairways.

If there had been panic, everyone would have been trampled.

Those who died either were trapped above the 85th floor in 1 WTC, or above the 78th floor in 2 WTC, or they were rescue workers trying to reached the trapped people.

We were back at work two days later -- as soon as transportation could move -- because we believed that the only way to lose to the terrorists is to quit working, to let them frighten us into changing how we live.

Well, I choose to believe that the jurors who sat there and listened to the vast amounts of evidence in the case know better than you or I whether the guy "deserved" the death penalty or not.

Frankly, I don't care what happens to him as long as it isn't pleasant. And that also goes for the scumbag "clerics" who taught him this foul breed of Islam whilst he was in London.
