Dumbest Move ever!
The Houston Texans opt to take Mario Williams! How many times will you come across a player of Reggie Bushs caliber once in a lifetime. How many times will you come across a player of Mario Williams caliber more than once Ill tell you that much. Reggie Bush has had success with two National Championships. Mario none. Mario is a decent player but not worthy of a number one pick. They could have gotten three to four picks if they traded and gotten alot more defensive players but no. This explains why some teams are winners and some are losers. 2-14 exactamundo!

How long would Reggie have held out for as well? They were apparently MILES apart on an agreement.
I really am envious of those of you with these crystal balls that allow you to predict with such certainty what players will or won't make it in the NFL though.
I think I could have much better gambling success if you people would share your crystal ball.
Reality is... there's NO such thing as a sure thing. I'm not going to rhyme off guys that have been busts... you all know who they are.
These 'skill position' players that are getting drafted often leave the team that drafted them shortly after they're finally ready to play in the NFL. It's getting to be almost like the team that drafts a guy is just the team that grooms the guy and then hopes that he doesn't go elsewhere for btter free agent money at their FIRST OPPORTUNITY.
Williams can help the Texans SOONER than Bush could have IMO, and he's a great player. I had him going right after Bush in my mock so I personally don't see it as a stretch. The Texans already have Domanick Davis as well... so I don't see this as a dumb move at all... let alone the dumbest move ever. The only thing that would have been better for the Texans would have been dropping a pick or two and getting another pick and STILL getting Williams... which I'm sure is an avenue they explored as well. They let everyone know that they were REALLY interested in Williams and everyone passed it off as posturing with Bush... obviously it wasn't... it was a beacon to anyone that might be interested in Bush to come knocking with offers.
It'll certainly shake up the draft board and make today a lot more interesting, so I think it's great all around!!!

Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.
I don't consider this a bad move. The Texas inked his draft pick before draft day and that is very important. What use is a guy who hasn't set foot in the NFL, and is (as reported) miles apart from a contract agreement. As everyone knows, a draft pick is like a lottery ticket.

primetime -- I agree, what were the Bills thinking? Whitner was a very late 1st or early 2nd round guy -- not a mid 1st rounder. He's a good player but not worthy of that place in the draft.
Ralph and Marv need to hire some help up there! They way overpaid Peerless Price - no one wanted him.
Weird...

I thought the dumbest move ever was when the Redskins passed over KWII for that Sean Taylor. Or when we took Carlos Rodgers instead of Mike Williams. Or when we traded away those picks to get Jason Campbell. Or when we didn't sit at #53 and wait to pick up depth, but instead traded up to get Mcintosh. Or. . .

Hey Boss Hog I respect your opinion but answer me this. Would you have passed on Reggie Bush for Mario Williams? Another thing If theyre going the defensive route why not draft Defensive players all across the first through 4 rounds?BossHog wrote:How long would Reggie have held out for as well? Nobody Mentioned Ryan Leaf the Chargers drafted him right after Peyton Manning, Or Todd Blackledge of the 1983 Great QB Draft Class By the Chiefs. Or the Lions Drafting Andre Ware.
