He's "The Greatest", not "The Cheapest"

Post by REDEEMEDSKIN »

As Ted "The Million Dollar Man" DiBiase once said, "everybody's got a price", and now, we know Ali's:

The Champ sells out
Ali sells rights to his name, likeness to firm for $50M

April 11, 2006 3:44PM

NEW YORK (AP) -- Muhammad Ali, one of the world's most recognized people, has sold 80 percent of the marketing rights to his name and likeness to a firm for $50 million.

The 64-year-old former heavyweight champion, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, will retain a 20 percent interest in the business. The new venture will be operated by a company called G.O.A.T. LLC, an acronym for "The Greatest of All Time."

I can't wait to see him do a cameo on American Idol next season. :puke:

He's doing what alot of folks do. Lest we forget the Beatles sold the rights to alot of their catalog to Jacko!
"The biggest misrepresentation there is that [it's because] Dan's got a lot of money. That's not it," Gibbs said. "We've got a rule. Believe me, if we had no rules, Dan would spend some money."

People may not remember exactly what you did
or what you said....

Well, he's not getting any younger...He probably wants to help out his family and this may be his last chance to do so...I certainly don't think he's going to go out and blow all that cash on cheap beer and PS2 games!

i think the question should be is, who made this decision for him? my understanding is that he is in the advanced stages of parkinson's. he is literally trapped in his own body.

how was this conveyed to someone that this is what he intended?

oh, questions......may peace be with you muhammad.
