Should Coach Gibbs ban ATV's ?

Post by Redskin_fan »

Is it me or are ATV's some type of conspiracy device that entices our Redskins to do stupid things:

1) Sean Taylor
2) Casey Rabach

....what's next? For the love of all that's holy, Gibbs should put a restraining order on any "all terrain vehicle" from coming within 100 yards of a Redskin. ...I bet Jerry Jones has something to do with this.

Your thread title is a bit misleading.

Yes, let's ban ATVs, but we can't just stop there. These players engage in dangerous activities every day--how many of them, do you think, will use powertools to fix things around their house, and how many of them cook using these sharp knives that could do severe damage to their hands. Not to mention that each one of them drives a car--there is no way they should be allowed to do this; it's just too dangerous!!!

They are not safe outside of Redskin Park. They should all have to move into the facilities until their contracts are up.

Your obviously joking but there are some contracts that prohibit using things like power tools. In fact there are some contracts (for MLB pitchers and NFL qb's) that prohibit doing things such as playing darts. It seems strange to us that certain activites that we consider normal are banned in pro sports contracts but these athletes are paid huge amounts of money and teams need to be able to protect their investments.

Ban ATV's?! I think that's a horrible idea. Unfair, too. Sure, I can be coarse sometimes but isn't that goung a little overboard?

Forgive the sarcasim I certainly wasn't serious. Now if something happens with an ATV and a Redskin player again, I reserve the right to change my mind.

...you know you have hit rock bottom when you're discussing ATV's. I can not wait for the Draft, OTA's, Training Camp, and most of all the season. This is the worst part of the year.

Let's not forget these guys are in their 20's. This is what guys that age do. Freak accident that's all. He'll be fine and I bet he does not hop on another ATV any time soon.

Yeah, you guys kid around but many contracts forbid skiing, playing basketball, riding motorcycles, and other every day activities.

It just depends where you want to draw the line... would you ban hunting too? Would you limit the players you could sign then?

I think the Skins should consider banning ATV's but they need to carefully analyze the situation and see how much it would hurt them.
