Digital Cable & Xbox

Post by Justice Hog »

After a lot of thought and after considering a lot of the comments by my fellow THN family, I decided to ditch DirecTV and go back to Comcast Digital Cable (with DVR).

Main reasons:

1. I really don't need the NFL Sunday Ticket;
2. Cable allows me to view Blue Hen Football games when they're televised;
3. Black-outs during bad weather are no more; and
a few more reasons.

Now,

My XBox is hooked up directly to the INPUT 3 buttons on the back of the TV. My DirecTV remote had an INPUT button so I could change it to INPUT 3 and, thus, play the games.

There is apparently no INPUT button on my digital cable remote so I'm not sure how to be able to play the XBox games with the digital cable box/remote.

Any of you out there have experience with this care to offer some advice?

Thanks.

I figured it out myself. Needed an RF Modulator.

All is right with the world again.

3 choices (if I'm understanding your problem correctly).....you can use the remote that came with the TV, walk to the TV and hit the input button (if there is one) or get a universal remote that will work both the TV & your cable box, just make sure the universal remote has all the buttons that are on the remote you're replacing. If your cable remote is like mine, all you can do is turn the power on/off & change the volume on the TV.

The best idea is stay with DTV no digital cable. Clairity will always be best on Satellite.

If you had that big a problem, then someone did a crappy job on the install. My satellite hardly ever goes out, and when it does, it comes back on quickly (as opposed to cable, which could be out for days when it goes out).
